Bette was sitting on Tina’s couch as Tina was getting two
bottles of water. Tina came into the living room sitting next to Bette. She handed
over the water bottle. Bette quickly uncapped it and guzzled a good amount of
water. She pulled it away from her lips and used the back of her hand to wipe
away the wetness on her lips.

Tina watched her then when she saw Bette catch her eye she
looked away. “So what do we need to talk about?”

Bette put the cap back on the water. “Ok well, you’re going
to find out tomorrow is Helena is fired and I am now suspended due to what
happened earlier this afternoon. So, now you get to either stay with the gym or
you can move onto a new gym.”

Bette was worried that Tina would follow Helena to the gym
she would work for.

Tina looked down at her hands. “Oh, so I have no trainer? Well,
if I have no one to train me at the gym then it’s time for me to leave.”

Bette grabbed Tina’s hand giving it a squeeze. “Not exactly.”

Tina looked up into Bette’s eyes with a raised eyebrow
questioningly.

Bette continued. “I’d love to be your trainer again, Tee. I
know you and what you can and can’t do. Please consider me again.”

Tina saw the pleading in Bette’s eyes, she sighed. “Bette, I
really need to think about it. I just found out I’m without a trainer. It’s a
lot to process right now. Give me a few days, okay?”

Bette nodded and stood up. “Yeah, sure. No problem.”

Tina looked up at Bette confused. “That’s all?”

Bette shrugged. “Yeah, pretty much.”

Tina grabbed Bette’s wrist pulling her back. “I want to know
what Helena was talking about earlier to you. I heard her mention the thing
about your girlfriend cheating on you and it made you so upset, why?”

Bette took a deep breath and sat down slowly next to Tina. “Well
remember how I said that my ex-girlfriend slept with a trainer that I worked
with?” Tina nodded and Bette continued. “Well that was Helena.”

Tina frowned and began to rub Bette’s back. “I’m really
sorry. I had no idea why you got so mad but now I understand.”

Bette licked her dry lips feeling the courage build in
her.  “That’s not all I was mad at her
about.”
