Once a Cheater pt. 7
Tina unpacked their bags while Bette checked the mail and phone messages. Kit had been waiting for them when they got home. She had already taken Angie for the day. Kit had seen a flyer at Angie’s preschool for kiddie karaoke in the park and thought Angie would love it. Tina finally got the suitcase situated in the closet. However, when she stood up she knocked her head on the shelf above her. “Fuck,” she yelped, then her collection of vinyl landed on top of her as the shelf gave way. “Double fuck.”
She decided she would just stack the records in the corner until she could fix the shelf. She took a moment to look at the records. Some of them were collector’s items now, others were just sentimental. Jermaine Stewart’s We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off was right along side George Michael’s Faith. Tina continued to walk down memory lane. She burst out in laughter when she came to her copy of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. An album that by all accounts should be the most coveted in her collection, but thanks to her brother, Rusty, her Michael had horns and a beard. He had done it to piss her off because she had ratted on him about smoking at school. But she had only ratted on him because he wouldn’t let her go to the drive-in with him and Kelly Meyers to see Footloose. She missed Rusty, she hadn’t seen him in six years. She needed to talk to Bette about the wedding. She thought it would be nice to do something big this time, to really make a statement. As she thought about Rusty, she decided she needed to talk to Bette about something else too.
Bette came into the bedroom as Tina was stacking the last of the records. She was bent over exposing the small of her back where her tee rode up. “Helena called, said she was sorry she couldn’t make it over to Catalina, something about a skating rink.”
“No she didn’t” Tina said in disbelief.
“Didn’t what?”
“She said something about buying this old skating rink and fixing it up.”
“Peggy is going to kill her.” Bette stroked her hand along Tina’s exposed flesh.

kit needs to get over angus… maybe shane or alice could watch angie… can’t wiat to see what maxine wants with bette… PPS
Great stuff. I didn’t expect the twist of Kit falling off the wagon. Loving the B&T storyline you’re developing. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Oh dear. For every good thing that happens in her life, Bette keeps getting a counteracting new source of stress, doesn’t she? Very good update, ladym, thanks.
damn, kit needs to get a grip, bette is right about not letting angus get to her…. well i hope dinner goes off a little better… :)PPS
“Jenny raised her hand but didn’t expend the energy to wave.” You’ve certainly nailed the Jenny character. Actually, you’ve nailed ALL of the characters and given B&T a page-turner or a storyline to boot. Thanks for the terrific update, and PPS!
Oops, that should be “page-turner OF a storyline.”
Kit needs to go back to AA. Poor Bette thing’s are going really great for her and Tina then her mother and now Kit. I hope that life gets a little better for both B&T and Kit. Great Update!!! Thank you PPS
Bette and Tina has so much drama, they cant lead a normal day. First Maxine and now Kit. Jenny is a looney tune. Poor B&T
Not good for Kit but I think in the long run it will be good for Bette while meeting her mom. It will them something to talk about and of course Angie will eat it up.
Fuck, fuck, fuck is right!! Damn it Kit get it together. PPS
Aw sh*t! I can’t believe that Kit fell to her demons over Angus. I hope she doesn’t resist getting some help quickly as I want her safe. I sense major drama in front of Angie and I hope it doesn’t go too badly.
Sorry Kit but that was just so selfish, understandable, but inconsiderate. Sigh
