“Hi Mom!” called the tall sandy-haired young man in size 11 cleats, “we won!”
“Great!” replied Tina, kissing Mikey on the cheek before hopping in the passenger seat, following the unwritten code that the teenager always drives the car whenever he is seen with his step-mom in public.
“I pitched the whole game, but started to loose my change-up in the seventh inning,” the excited boy chatted on. “But the defense was awesome. They really came through for me.”
“Great Mikey. Mike. I knew you’d do well.
“So where’s the squirt?” asked Mikey.
“This is Bette’s week,” replied Tina.
“Oh, right, I forgot.”
“I’m sorry I missed the whole game. I really did want to see you pitch against Brentwood, but Angelica needed me today.
“Why, what’s up?” inquired Mikey, a sincere look of concern on his face.
“Woman things,” said Tina. “She’d kill me if I gave her brother any more information.”
“Say no more mom, say no more!” pleaded Mikey.

She could feel his hot breath on her face, smell the beer and tacos, and hear his raspy voice telling her that it was okay. It felt anything but okay. His body weight was holding her down, helpless, her small frame unable to move at all under his strong, muscular one. And then his tongue entered her mouth. She tried to scream, but only managed a whimper. He lifted his weight up slightly to allow his hands to move under her pink t-shirt and training bra. He ran his fingers across her small breasts.
Angelica woke up sweating and crying, “Mama, Mommy, help me!”
Bette heard her daughter moaning and crying out in the next room. She quickly shoved the pile of mail she had been sorting onto the couch and jumped up.
“Angie, baby, Mama’s here,” said Bette, sitting on the edge of Angelica’s bed and reaching to pull her daughter in an embrace.
“Mama,” Angelica whispered over and over again.

Tina wandered around her garden, watering can in hand. She was up at the crack of dawn, having spent a fitful night tossing and turning. She bent over to inspect her favorite plant. Her rose bush, fragile yellow flowers in bloom, had been transplanted 3 times, slightly stunted in size, but hardier for the stress. The bush was first planted by Tina and Bette in memory of their son 13 years before. Tina had unceremoniously dug the small bush from the yard and re-planted it in the tiny garden she shared with Henry and Mikey after the marriage. Tina and Angelica planted it here, together, when the short marriage with Henry dissolved. Their home was small, cozy and sun-lighted. Nevertheless it was the place that Tina felt at home only fifty percent of the time; when Angelica lived with Bette every other week, the house felt huge and empty, the silence overwhelming. Tina found herself thinking that Bette was the mom who got to share this latest milestone in Angelica’s life. Bette would be consulted about what was normal, what kind of pads to wear, what Angelica could do if she experienced cramps, not Tina. “You are jealous!” thought Tina in surprise.

Great Update 24B&T! So glad your father is doing better. That’s a great reason to celebrate, and what better way than to post a chapter! Thank you! I hope that Angelica’s nightmare isn’t a repressed memory of something that actually happened…that would be horrific. Alice cracks me up! I have to agree with her, B&T do look totally scrumptious together. It doesn’t seem like Bette is too happy about Carolyn coming to her home turf. She didn’t even reply before shutting off her iBerry. Now let’s see what Bette wants to talk to Tina about! More please!!!
So glad to hear that your father was moved out of ICU. Hopefully he is on his way to recovery. I was happy to read that Tina and Henry are no longer married. But I do not quite get how Mikey is still around Tina and Angelica. Angelica’s dreams are a little scary. I hope that my qualms about Mikey are not the reason for those horrible dreams that Angelica is experiencing.

I’m glad your father is getting better I hope he continues to get well. It sounds like someone tried to force themselves on ANGIE…I am hoping she saw a bad movie. If something did happen she needs to tell her parents…Urgh Tina married the guy…that’s just wrong…well at least he’s no longer a fixture. Looking forward to more.

OK, I’m confused about Mikey? Is Tina with Henry? Did Henry or Mikey do something bad to angie? So much angst, so little time! Thank you for taking the time to write and post this given all the other stuff you have going on. We appreciate it!
Hey 24 hope your father getting better and well soon. Im little don’t understan here that is Tina still with hendick or not, cause mikey call Tina mom, hope she not with hendick anymore. Poor Angie, hope she will tell B&T about what happen and tell who did that to her, and let Bette kill that son of a bitch. Anyway post soon please, thanks!
