    Rescue Me, Chapter 57

    After Tina’s lecture…

    Tina’s lecture was a complete success.  She fielded questions from her audience for forty minutes after her session ended.  She was pleased that everything had gone so well, but she was exhausted.  As she was packing up her presentation materials, Maggie approached her.

     

    “Hey girl, you were great.”

     

    “Thanks Maggie, I was nervous at first, but after about ten minutes I started to relax and the material just kind of flowed.”

     

    “Well as I said, you were great.  Even Scott and Mark stayed awake and attentive for your whole lecture and that’s saying a lot,” laughed Maggie.

     

    With a puzzled look Tina asked, “Why do you say that Mags?”

     

    “It seems they were out all night partying and never went to bed before your session started.  You should see them, they look pretty rough.”

     

    “Well then I guess I should feel honored that they made it to my lecture,” said Tina, slightly distracted as she continued to pack up her materials.

     

    “I guess so,” said Maggie. “You seem pretty chipper today Tina.  I guess you got to bed pretty early yourself last night, eh?”

     

    Tina hesitated, “Hmm, what…oh last night, yea I went right to bed after I left the bar.”

     

    “Uh huh,” said Maggie.

     

    “Huh?  What did you say Mags?”

     

    “I was just wondering if you got any sleep last night.”

     

    “There, that’s everything,” said Tina to herself, satisfied that she had collected everything she had used for her lecture. “Sleep, um yea I didn’t really get a lot of sleep last night, so I think I’ll go back up to my room and grab a nap.”

     

    “OK Tina, I’ll see you later then,” said Maggie shaking her head as a distracted Tina gathered her things and left.

     

    “Uh huh, OK Mags,” mumbled Tina.

     

    Back upstairs in Tina’s room…

     

    Tina opened the hotel room door and saw that her bed was still occupied by a sleeping brunette.

     

    Ugh, she thought to herself, I cannot believe this one.  She placed her briefcase and other items on the desk next to the window. Threw the curtains open and shouted, “That’s it, get up, get out of my bed now!”

     

    “Huh, what the…”, stated the no longer sleeping beauty.

     

    “You heard me, get up.  Jesus, Bette, how long were you planning on sleeping?”

     

    “Come on T, why are you yelling at me?  We didn’t get to sleep until after dawn,” said Bette rubbing her eyes as she tried to wake up completely.

     

    “Yes I know and I forgot to set my alarm, thank you very much.  Fortunately I had a full bladder and woke up to use the bathroom or I would have missed my own lecture.”

     

    “Baby I’m sorry, but that’s not really my fault now is it,” smiled Bette as she approached Tina and slid her arms around her waist.

     

    “Yes it is.  Who came to Las Vegas to surprise me, huh,” asked Tina feigning anger with beloved.

     

    “Would you rather I stayed in LA and left you here all alone in Sin City,” asked Bette as she began to kiss Tina’s neck and rub her hands up and down Tina’s back.

     

    “I um, I… Jesus Bette, how am I supposed to be angry with you when you’re doing that to me?”

     

    “You’re not,” smirked Bette as she wiggled her eyebrows at Tina. “Look T, I’m sure you are tired.  Why don’t you get undressed and lie down on the bed and I’ll give you a massage.  Then I’ll run you a bubble bath, bathe you myself and tuck you into bed so you can get some rest before we go out tonight and tear up the Strip.”

     

    “Hmm,” said Tina as she wrapped her arms around Bette’s neck and melted into her arms.  “That sounds heavenly, but what will you do while I’m sleeping?”

     

    “I thought maybe you would allow me to hold you while you slept,” said Bette with a pouty lip and huge puppy dog eyes.

     

    “Babe you know I can’t deny you when you look at me with that face,” said Tina as she lightly kissed Bette lips.

     

    “Yeah, I know,” smiled Bette and she got a playful swat on her bum for her effort.

    10. I bring sad information. One of my best friends, and the author of this fan fiction has died. My favorite partner and all around great person Cheryl (MFH) was found stricken at home by her children, and died in the emergency room on Thursday, May 12th, around 6PM.I thank you all for the support you gave her with her writing. She loved writing fan fiction, almost as much as she loved her children, and caring for sick patients. Please pray for her family. Thank you. I don’t know what I will do without her.Chris.

    18. HEy Medic, yes it was short but am happy to see you posting more of this awesome adventure. Bette and Tina just Be-Long together and you know it and you know how to write about it. Brilliant! Good to see that the beautiful brunette was Bette all along. It was hysterical seeing how the rest of the group were speechless at the club and left wondering what the hell was going on. I just knew that Tina would always be true to her one and only. Loving it. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
