Running Late Part 4

Bette was pointing out non other than Candace Jewell. Bette couldnt believe her eyes. First she meets the perfect woman, then her ex shows up in town. Candace noticing 4 ladies staring at her looks and then recognizes Bette.

Hey Bette. Fancy seeing you here on the islands. How have you been?

Before Bette was able to say anything Alice jumped in. Sorry to interrupt, but Bette weve got to get to that appointment.

Um sorry Candace but we have made plans. Nice seeing you though. Bye What the ***** was that. Shes gone for how many years, and she decided to come back now. This cant be happening to me. Bette was angry, and everyone could understand why.

Bette maybe its not what you think, maybe she is just here on vacation or something. That was Dana always trying to make everyone feel better. Come on guys lets go

The rest of the day Bette spent back in her hotel room. She just knew Tina was going to call and cancel there dinner plans. She wanted to desperately to spend as much time with Tina as possible, but she knew if Candace was in the picture there time would be cut short. When she had called Tina this morning she seemed to happy to here from Bette. Tina had made reservations for the both of them for tonight at 6pm. Tina had told Bette to meet her outside of her hotel so they could beat traffic. Time seemed to be standing still.. Bette was staring at the phone praying it would not ring when at 5pm it did.

Funny you should ask that Tina. Your never going to believe who I saw today while I was shopping. Tina did respond, and this worried Bette. Tina are you still there?

Yeah, Im here. So you saw her too. She called me this afternoon. She wanted to come over and see Lauren.

Oh well thats good. At least she is making an effort. Better late than never right. Bettes heart was breaking. Here she had know Tina only a few days, but already felt a strong connection to her. Bette was waiting for the let know on dinner, but Tina still hadnt said anything.

Tina, Tee. Are you still there? Bette breathed out the words.

I said no, Bette. I told her I had met someone new, and even though we hadnt know each other very long I felt a strong connection to her. God Bette I hope I made the right decision for Lauren.

OK Bette. Now are you going to be ready at 6 still cause Im starving.? That was the best thing Bette had heard all day. Tina had chosen her. Tina had chosen her.
