    Secrets – Chapter 9

I was sitting in a shitty motel room with a bottle of vodka in my hand. I took a sip and felt the burning liquid make its way down my throat.

As I was driving from the house I had realized that I didn’t have any idea where to go. I couldn’t go to any of my friends cause then I would have to tell them what had happened and also Bette would have no trouble finding me. I had ended up at this shitty motel after driving for hours. I didn’t even know where I was.

I took another sip from the vodka and a warm feeling started to spread in my body.

I had thrown up but the pain I felt wouldn’t go away. Now with the liquor circling my blood I felt dizzy but the pain I felt wasn’t as noticeable.

I closed my eyes but opened them quickly. Every time I closed my eyes I saw Bette’s face filled with hurt as I had walked away. I couldn’t stand it and I took a longer sip of the vodka, coughing as it went down. I felt sick but it was still better than feeling the pain in my heart.

Bette was better off without me. She didn’t need any of my shit.

My hand clenched around the bottle. I was mad, mad at myself.

I brought the bottle up to my lips and downed as much of the liquid as I could. I gasped at the burning in my chest and then the room started to spin…

I opened my eyes and all I could see was white, it burned my eyes and I closed them quickly before opening them again. I squinted as I looked around trying to figure out where I was. The room was white and there was a big window. I looked down at myself, I was clad in a hospital gown with an IV stuck into my arm.

I’m in the hospital…What happened? How did I get here?

Suddenly the door opened and a young red haired nurse entered.

“Oh good Miss Kennard, you’re awake” she smiled

“My name is Sarah, I’m a nurse here at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital”

“I’m in Bakersfield?” I asked in a raspy voice.

    1. yes indeed Tina has made yet another stupid decision but that’s all part of life, I mean I’ve made decisions as stupid as that too and they served to teach me a lesson, so it should do the same for Tina
