Chapter 47
Tina looked at Bette who had just finished her second helping of dinner – across the table Niall was looking at his daughter and her partner with a smile. Bette looked across at Niall and Sarah
“Tina told me that you were a wonderful cook and she was under stating you – that was utterly delicious “
“It was just a casserole “
“That was not JUST a casserole “ Bette said holding her finger up to make her point
“It tasted so good Bette because all the ingredients were home produced and organic. We believe in what we do here “
“I would love to talk to you both about it sometime and I would like to see the farm if that is possible “
“I was planning to take you out for a look around in the morning “ Tina said
“I look forward to it “
“Would anyone like apple pie ?” Sarah asked
Bette’s grin got bigger “That would be a yes please from me “
“I don’t think there is much danger of Bette or I refusing anything “
“Good – you both look like you need a good feed “
“Absolutely “ Bette chuckled “ Couldn’t agree more “
Niall got up and helped Sarah and Tina clear the dishes away and soon the four were tucking into giant slices of apple pie and cream
“You grow your own apples right ?”
“We have a few trees – nothing special. Tina planted them didn’t you ?”
“I did – I had my own little vegetable patch when I was about 6 or 7. I cried the day rabbits ate my lettuce “
Bette grinned “ I have never seen you watching Bugs Bunny now you mention it “
“Didn’t stop her eating the rabbit pie I made after I set some traps “
Bette looked at Niall
“Rabbit pie ?”
“Sure “
Tina smiled – for the first time Bette wasn’t sure about the country life
“What does rabbit taste like ?”
“Nice -you want maybe I could catch some while you are here and Sarah would be happy to cook a nice rabbit pie up ?“
Sarah laughed “ Not sure how Tina or Willow or Bette will take that Niall “

That is kind of amusing. Whatever, Bette never promised anything she didn’t deliver to all of those women. If they thought they were going to date her just because she fucked them..thats their own fault. Its naive and ridiculous. Bette might need to smooth it over that she has changed.. but really, she has nothing to apologize for in her past. I mean.. we were told many times that Bette was a player but that she never led women to believe it was more than what is was.. so I’m going to hold firm to that.
You know, you don’t run into too many vamps these days, most of the originals being roughly 110 years old now. Theda Bara and Pola Negri would be proud.
Oops. Bette’s got a little work ahead of her.

It’s a small, small world. For a second I thought Carol was going to be Sarah’s lezzy ‘friend’ from back in the days of free love. And since Sarah is very familiar with the days of free love, she really should be able to get over this. Eventually.

Just when we thought Bette’s making some inroads to win over her mother-in-law, her past comes haunting her back. But what matters most is that Tina knows that’s history and Bette has mended her ways. Thank you for the daily updates, ally! :)

Great chapter. So much fun! How do folks expect Bette to be such a good lover if she didn’t have prior experience? It’s just more fun that it’s related to the Kennard family especially Mama Kennard. PPS.

Ah ha, I been waiting for a twist from you…good one. Boy Bette’s conquests have reached all the way back to North Carolina…she really did have quite the reputation! This means a showdown at some point between Sarah and Bette…should be very interesting! Can’t wait for your next chapter Ally!
OMG! I’m sure this woman never even met Bette when her daughter was dating her. Tina’s mom should use her own judgement and not go by hearsay.

Poor Bette, one step foward and two steps back. The killer is that she may not even remember this girl. I think that Tina should talk to her mother and tell her that she knows about Bette’s past and had been warned off by Helena, but Bette is a different woman now and hers alone. Nice twist Ally, you maintain your “Drama Queen” status LOL. PPS :o).
Who the hell is carol that say such thing about Bette to Tina’s mom, now wonder Tina’s mom is a bitch to Bette, drama coming hot not. Tina’s sister and brother are funny. Please post more, thanks!
