    Stomach vs. Heart

    George and Alice couldn’t believe their eyes. Bette pulled away from a stunned Tina and grined, the girl walked away without hesitation. Tina looked at the girl then back at Bette.

    Tina: “Hi” she said half smiling.

    Bette: “Hi, you looked like you needed help”

    Tina: “Yeah, thanks” she said shaking the thought of Bette’s lips out of her head

    Bette: “Where is the rest of the gang?”

    Tina looked around and saw George and Alice still staring at them with shock on their faces. She pointed at them and they made their way over to the bar. Alice and George saw them walking towards them. They turned around in panic and huddled over the bar.

    Alice: “What the ***** was that?” she wispered loudly

    George: “I don’t know” she replied and felt a hand on her sholder.

    George turned around and pretened to be surprised.

    George: “Hey Bette, when did you get here?”

    Bette: “A minute ago, you need to watch her better” she said pointing at Tina “she’s gonna get eaten alive out there” she smiled and winked at Tina

    George: “Yeah I guess we do”

    Jen: “Hey Bette, gin and tonic?”

    Bette: “Thanks”

    Tina stood quietly watching Bette, she wondered why she was so hung up on her. She thought she just really enjoyed her friendship, but after that innocent kiss she began to think not so innocent thoughts. “this is crazy” she thought. “it was just a kiss, it wasn’t even a long one, get yourself together Tina” she continued to argue with herself. She was so deep in thought she didn’t notice the woman that was talking to Bette. Alice heard the woman talking and turned around. She coyly nudged George in the arm.

    George: “Ow, what?” she said turning to Alice

    Alice didn’t respond she just nodded her head. George turned around and sighed, she picked up her drink that was still pretty much full and chuged it. She looked at Tina and saw the confusion in her eyes. Georged jumped off of her stool and walked over stood next to Tina.

    George: “You wanna get out of here?” she asked with concern, she had seen that look before and nothing good ever came from it.
