The Journey to You – Chapter 13

    “Wow… you look nice…”

Sam blushed, nervously pushing her hair behind her ear.

“Thanks, uh, have a good night…”

“Yeah, you have a good night too… you going out partying?” Tina attempted to wink, but, as usual, ended up blinking.

“Just meeting some friends at the arthouse bar” Sam seemed nervous.

“Ok, have fun – don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” Tina joked, trying to make Sam smile. It didn’t work. Sam looked up at Tina.

    “None of your business, Tina.”

“Sam, I was just joking, I’m sorry, of course it’s none of my business.” Now Tina was flustered, she returned her attention to her pizza and wine; as if they were the most enthralling things she had ever set her eyes on.

Sam headed for the door, opened it and was about to step out when she paused, seeming unsure. Tina saw the hesitation, but, deciding it was safer not to enquire, kept her eyes trained on the TV.

“Tina?” Sam had not moved, she stood at the open door with one hand on the handle, ready to walk out.

    “Yeah?”

    “Is there someone in LA?”

Tina froze. The seconds ticked by. She was prepared for Sam to ask that last night, but did not expect it now. Sam spoke into the silence.

“I guess that answers my question” Sam walked out the door, slamming it behind her, not letting Tina respond.

“Sam! Wait! You have to let me explain.” Tina threw the door open and ran after the brunette.

“What’s to explain?” Sam spun around, her eyes dark with anger.

“This is not how… please, come back inside, let’s talk.”

“I don’t want to talk to you Tina; I don’t want to see you. I don’t want to do anything you want me to do. I already tried that, and you still fucked around on me. I don’t have anything else to give you. I already gave you all I had. You broke up with me. I don’t owe you a thing.” Sam turned on her heel and stomped down the stairs. Tina followed.

“You don’t owe me a thing. But I owe you, I owe you a lot, and I’m sorry. I want to explain. I didn’t fuck around Sam; you have to know that, I didn’t fuck around.”

    1. I am glad that Bette and Tina waited to pursue a physical relationship. I feel more sorry for Sam than Alice…Alice ASSUMED that just because her and Bette did the nasty on a regular but albeit short basis that they had a meaningful relationship. Should Bette had nipped it in the bud when she overheard Alice call them a “we?” yes…but Alice still assumed. Neither one of them discussed what the sex meant so how Alice formed a relationship out of that was with some miracle grow and a dream. It’s a classic case of “oh you got a girlfriend I got one too…let me show her off so you won’t think I am a loser by not having one too. It’s kinda like wanting to take the hottest date to your class reunion and you know that for the past 20 years you have been watching porno and eating chips…lol. Anyway I am enjoying this story and can’t wait til your next post…you’ve spoiled us now so I hope it’s real soon.

    2. I know this is the first time I commented on this story but that’s because I just wanted to read it all the way through. Gotta say I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait for more! PPS:)

    3. I am the one who is going to scream if you don’t post soon, I LOVED your story, my God; you made me crazy, I think about what is going to happen all the time even inside the class which is not a good thing to do when you are explaining a lesson to students, you choice an incredible approach to join them together, I love that it is so different and exciting, you write the teasing scenes really well dear, Ohhh I can’t wait to find out what will happen between them next, I thought about writing to you when I started reading the story, but I couldn’t tear my eyes and brain to write anything, thank you so much for giving us such a pleasure, I am excited about the next post, so hurry up dear. With all my bestHugs

    4. Alice and Bette feel into a casual relationship at least that is what Bette thought and Alice is hurt, but it wouldn’t have mattered if Tina came along or not it wasn’t going to last. Tina and Sam are a bit more complicated, but it does seem that there were some signals ahead of time that it may not last. I think that Bette and Tina are doing the best they can being struck by Cupid. Great writing!

    5. it seems that sam has a right to be hurt; one week she’s giving up her all to move to LA for Tina now she’s last week’s news; i don’t think i’d trust someone capable of doing what Tina’s done to Sam. bette is a similar story. from one perspective they’re both users. also they’re rushing it. bette wanting Tina to move in if only for a few days; sounds like a real ‘u-haul’ kinda relationship. i don’t think i’d forgive bette or tina too easily if i was the exes unless they find true love almost immediately themselves. watch out for ‘Karma’ is my final opinion.

    6. For dialogue not being a strong point, you seemed to do a really good job. Don’t sell yourself short, this is a great story. I can’t wait for your next post. Thanks, tbp.

    7. It does look on the surface as if B&T are users, but you can’t predict who and when you fall madly in love with someone. The best you can do is, if you are already in a relationsip, try to be as honest as you can and try to tell that person that you never ment for it to happen and you are sorry. Of course they won’t want to hear a word you have to say. Alice could already see that she and Bette were not right for each other but it doesn’t make her feel any better to be broken up with. In Sams case I’m sure if she really looks at her and Tina’s relationship she can see they probably wouldn’t have made it in the long run but wanted to hang on to her because of how long they were together.Tina and Bette did kiss each other but as Tina pointed out they did not f**k around because that would have been just too disrespectful and callous they tried to do the right thing by breaking it off with who they were with before going any further with each other.

    8. i don’t think they are users, guilty of kissing but at least they broke up with their current gf. alice will setttle with time once she sees show well bette and tina fit together. as for sam if sam felt she was giving too much them their relationship would haveended sooner or later, regardless if bette was around. sam and tina moved in together duringa rough patch. most ppl don’t move in when things are going badly… tina is right to have her won place and not stay with bette. if they go slow it will cuz of tina. she is making bette wait until the following weekend… :) PPS

    9. If Sam and Alice will stop amd think, they will see that it was just a matter of time before it would be over. B&T were not F**king around. So they can’t be guilty about that. Kissing and feeling up each other yes. That did that. How Alice feels will be up to her,she can be friends tho will be hard or lose two wonderful friends.. thanks

    10. I disagree with the statement that Bette and Tina are users. In fact, I think if you feel the need to call them that, you have to also call Sam and Alice users too. Alice has had a crush on Bette for years, so now that she finally got her to sleep with her she is using Bette to fulfill the fantasies she has had about her, and to show her off to others. And, if Tina is using Sam, well then Sam is using Tina. They were both in a relationship just like so many other people, both lesbians and straight people, where they decide to stay and work on a relationship, not because they are in love and feel like they have found their soul mate, but because they feel obligated to make a commitment work. They don’t want to be a failure. Tina cannot be blamed because she actually did find her soul mate. That’s not using someone, that my friend is destiny. Lovin this story.

    11. I agree Sam should feel angry and bitter but Tina did not step out on her in the traditional sense. She kissed someone other than her lover and that is cheating but they’re not married and their relationship was rocky at times. I wouldn’t be happy w/Tina at all but such is love and war. Tina and Bette have to remember than neither one of them has the highest regard for other people’s feelings. As a poster wrote “karma”. PPS. The dialogue was believable and intelligent.

    12. It’s possible they’re rushing things. However, they definitely have chemistry. Can’t wait to read about Bette making Tina scream!!! PPS

    13. I’m loving your story and look forward to every post. The dialogue was spot on to me… very honest. Feel bad for Sam and Alice, but I think it’s more hurtful to stay with someone out of obligation.

    14. tina and bette seem all to eager to get into bed with one another… the question is how will the exes react when their new relationship comes into the light?…
