    Ally’s 400th and no hint of drama at all !!

    THE L WING Chapter 171

    Narration of First Lady Tina Kennard Porter

     

     

    After seeing Bette off to work -her first day with her new Senior Staff I am left to my own devices. I need someone to act as my Chief of Staff because I know that Carmen is going to want to spend time with Shane. So I go to my office with a lot on my mind. I know that I will have a stack of paperwork and an inbox the size of Texas to deal with. There are time like this when I miss a huge cup of coffee. But I have a responsibility to the baby not to take any substances that might harm her growth in any way — and as well as that I want to give Bette the daughter that I know she craves almost as much as I do. So I get a glass of water filled with ice cubes – there is no explanation but my first craving is for ice cubes. I am sure when I tell Bette she will spend hours on the internet before coming to a conclusion about what it means.

     

     

    I work for about two hours before the first interruption – but what an interruption it is

    “Good morning Madam First Lady “

     

    I look up to see the very pregnant figure of Carmen de la Pica Morales, I leap across and hug her

     

    “Oh God Carmen – its wonderful to see you – you look great – how’s Shane – if she is with you she is in a lot of trouble “

     

    “No she is at home resting and being bullied by my mom “

     

    We hug for several seconds – I push myself away and take a long look at her. She is really blooming – her long dark hair is loose and she is wearing baggy grey trousers and a white sweater

     

    “You look just amazing – how’s the baby ?”

     

    “Great – she is just getting bigger – she’s started kicking as well “

    “Oh wow “

     

    I indicate for us to go across to the two sofa’s beside the window. She grabs an orange and starts peeling it. I retrieve my water and join her

    5. Congrats on your 400th! You’re going to need a very large cake to fit 400 candles. And if this is your take on “no hint at drama’, you’re in trouble with C, a new sibbling for Bette is looking like major drama coming our way. Great chapter as usual.

Amazing story as always..in fact it came to mind because I am currently reading “Where Have All The Leaders Gone” by Lee Iacocca and it reminds me a bit of this story to be honest. Good book, as is this story!

    11. Congrats on being so prolific. You just can’t not write drama. It’s part of your DNA. You try to go along blithely but then the drama genes just grab you and make you write in such a way. PPS.

    12. 400! Amazing. Can’t say I’ve read them all, but I’ve been there for most of them. I strongly recommend that Melvin invests in a paternity test given his status. How old is the presumptive sister? Sounds like Alice may have been right about Tina holding grudges. Just as Alice needs to contol her neediness-driven spitefulness towards Tina, Tina needs to learn to deal with Bette’s friends whomever they may be. Being a couple really isn’t about living in a mutual cocoon that excludes the rest of the world. As I mentioned a while back, Tina needs to cultivate/revive some friendships of her own.

    13. 400 Congrats!!!! uh-oh! ally’s in the beginning of an mentally abusive (bordering on physical) relationship! lol… threatening to slap you b/c of drama… haha (you must get A LOT of threats then!) I think some of us have threatened that as well!!

    21. Tina holds a grudge huh. If Alice has to grow up , so does Tina. It all wasn’t Alice fault things got out of hand. Tina play a very important part in it too.

This is helping Tina deal with Alice and her part in Bette’s senior staff. Then Bette and Tina were delightful in sharing their time together, thoughts and concerns. Just starting to heat up nicely when Wham! Bam! Thank you Ma’am! We have a new revelation!. Does Melvin have another daugther or is it a no-for-godden, theiving, rotton blackmailer.
