Chapter 9



Bette and Tina slept for a few short hours. Upon waking up Bette said ” I am going to take a shower, would you like to join me?” ” We only have time for a shower and nothing else, we need to decide what we are going to do and talk to the rest the group.” ” We are going to have to put on clothes we had on yesterday as we were not planning this sidetrip.”

The two of them jumped in the shower washing their hair, Bette held the towel open for Tina to use. They brushed out their hair, redressed the cloths they had on made their way back to the conference room.

The gang was all there waiting for them. ” What the hell?” Can you two not stay away from each other even in dire circumstances?” Just like bunnies at it all the time we have been waiting for you forever” we need to decide what we are going to do.” Maybe we should ask if we can go to Tularia and ridet it out there.”

Bette said ” remember, they told us their Sun is dying. I think they have been monitoring Earth as a possible new home.” They said that our scientists would see the asteroids coming in enough time to give us warning.” At this point we do not know if we have days or months.”

Tasha said ” I think as long as we stay together as a group we will be fine. I would like to go home for a while.” Shane said, ” Bette and Tina it is a good thing that you didn’t sell your house because I do not think we should be clear across the country from each other.” You need to come home to LA until we know what we are up against.”

” Baby sis, I agree with Shane, you need to bring your family back to LA.” I would like to spend as much time with baby girl that I can.” There is enough talent in this group to decide what action we take when it is necessary. We stand a much better chance together that we do apart.”

“We should put it to a vote” I know that Bette and I do not feel qualified to make this decision for us all.” Said Tina


Helena said ” we will not be able to stay in LA long-term; if the fireball or the tsunami doesn’t get us then the earthquake or volcano will.” I would like to go home for a bit and try to make amends for all of the grief I have caused.”


Krystal asked ” Bette and Tina may I see you in private?” She then began to walk towards the room that Tina and Bette had shared. Bette and Tina followed her.


” Bette, we are not going to allow any harm to come to you we will give you a way to contact us should things become too dangerous.” We will also be able to track you and Helena with the device implanted in your head” “we will come and get you if necessary.”

Tina and Bette looked at each other, clasped hands and began to discuss options. ” Tee, we should move back to LA at least for a little while.” ” I agree Bette.” We both have to let our employers know that we will be gone for a while.” I would certainly feel better surrounded by family.” Perhaps we can get the Tularian’s to drop us off in LA so we do not have to make the long drive.”

They returned to the group. ” If you all decide to return to LA Tina and I and Angelica will return with you. We are going to ask if we can be dropped off in LA to avoid the long drive. ” What about the Van? ” Alice asked. I do not want to pay for the Van if we don’t return it.” Maybe they Can beam up the Van and our stuff and return us all to LA.”

” Let’s take a vote said Shane. ” Everyone in favor of returning to LA to wait for a while raise your hand.” Everyone raised their hand so it was decided that they would return to LA for a while.

“Let’s tentatively plan to return to lava beds national Monument when we know when the asteroids will hit; we should be safe in the caves.” Said Bette.

Krystal said” we will return you to your campsite so that you can gather up your things and put them in the Van. At 10 o’clock tomorrow morning we will pick you and the Van up and transport you to LA.”

Bette whispered into Tina’s ear,” this way we will know if we are pregnant before the shit hits the fan and we can decide what to do from there.”
