[Bette woke up before Tina and lovingly stared at her. She is so beautiful, I dont know how I could love her any more than I do right now. Tonight at dinner, Im going to ask her to move back in and hopefully we can start to reclaim our life together.]

Bette: (touching Tinas face)I love you so much, I wont lose you again.

Tina: (Not fully asleep)I love you too and Im not going anywhere.

Bette: I didnt mean to wake you.

Tina: Its ok, I love you being the first thing I see when I wake up.

Bette: You know, you could wake up next to me every day

Tina: (Getting out of bed)Soon babe soon. (Pause) I need to get back over to Alices. I promised to go shopping with her today.

Bette: But I thought you would be here all day since you came over last night.

Tina: (Leaning in to kiss Bette)I wanted to wake up in your arms, I never said I was staying all day. Besides, we were only supposed to be having dinner tonight anyway.

Bette: (Sighing)Youre right. Ill call Kit and see what shes doing today. She mentioned getting together for lunch sometime.

Tina: (Trying to hide her excitement)That sounds like fun. Tell Kit I said hi. Ill call you later. Bye babe.

Bette: Bye T.

[Tina had to get back to Alices, she needed to start setting her plan into motion. And after last nights encounter, she needed to move fast.]


Bette: (On the phone)Hi Kit, I was wondering if you were free for lunch today.

Bette: Great, can you come by the house in about an hour or so?

Bette: See you then.


Tina: (Walking into the apartment)Hey Al., are you here?

Alice: (Coming out of the kitchen)SOOO, I want details!

Tina: (Smiling)Whats there to tell?

Alice: Oh no you dont! Youre not getting off that easy.

Tina: (Looking Alice in the eye)Theres nothing to tell.

Alice: I know Bette and youre telling me you just went over there in the middle of the night to sleepIm not buying it!

Tina: (Walking over to the couch)Thats just it Al. I went over there with other things on my mind, but Bette stopped me.

Alice: (Shocked)What?!

Tina: Im serious. She said the time wasnt right. She wants us completely back together before we get intimate again.

Alice: (Chuckling)I cant believe this. Bette Porter usually jumps at the chance to get a piece of ***** especially yours! I cant believe she turned you down. I need to write this down.

Tina: (Not amused)Very funny. You could try to lend your support.

Alice: Sorry, I was just a bit thrown is all.

Tina: I need to get our plan rolling. I was going to wait until after our dinner tonight to kind of feel out our situation. But after last night, I think I know where we stand and we have to get moving.

Alice: What needs to be done?

Tina: Unfortunately, Kit has the hard job and the one that needs to be done immediately.

Alice: Are you talking about getting the rings from Bette?

Tina: Yes. I need to call Kit and fill her in.

Alice: Tina, what exactly are you going to do with the rings?

Tina: Youll seeA girl needs some secrets!

Tina: (On the phone)Hey Kit.

Kit: Hey Tina, funny you should call. I just got done talking to Bette.

Tina: What did she want?

Kit: We are having lunch today.

Tina: Thats great! You two need to spend some time together.

Kit: Do you want me to try and work on getting the rings from Bette?

Tina: That would be great Kit. After last night, we need to get this plan moving and I need the rings as soon as possible.

Kit: (Sensing theres more to Tinas comment than shes admitting)Oh reallyWhat happened last night?

Tina: (Trying to hide behind the phone)Ohumnothing reallyI just want and need my wife back soon.

Kit: Ill see what I can do. I gotta go, I told Bette Id be right over.

Tina: Call me later and let me know how it went. Alice and I have some things to do today.

Kit: Alright girls, you two have fun and stay out of trouble.

Tina: (Laughing)Ok, bye Kit.

[Tina hangs up and pulls out a notepad to start making a list.]

Alice: (Coming back into the room)Whatcha doing?

Tina: Kits having lunch with Bette today so hopefully she can get the rings.

Alice: (Forehead furrowed)I dont know Tina. Those rings were Bettes life line to you while you were gone. I caught her several times grabbing them and holding onto them. She never noticed I noticed, but they were all she had left of you.

Tina: (Dropping her eyes)Al, she has ME now. She doesnt need to cling to those rings.

Alice: I know Tina, but maybe Bette feels like they are her security blanket. Maybe shes still insecure as to if she really has you.

Tina: Well its not because I havent tried to show her, but she always stops me.

Alice: Bette does?

Tina: Yes! She did it again last night. She said she wants it to be right. She wants everything to be in place permanent and forever.

Alice: Believe me Tina, she wants you, the whole package. Maybe shes trying to do this right this time?

Tina: I thought about that and I want the same thing. I just want it now!

Alice: Soon Tina soon youll have it all.

Tina: We need to get to work on some things.

Alice: What do we need to do?

Tina: Well, for starters, we need to go to the pier and stake out our area. Are you up for a day at the beach?

Alice: ***** yeah! Let me grab my suit.

Tina: Al. were not going there to have fun

Alice: Yeah, but you never know who youll see there. Im leaving my options open.

Tina: (Shocked)What about Dana?

Alice: What about her. She hasnt came around yet and a girl has needs

Tina: (Rolling her eyes but agreeing)Tell me about it!


Bette: (On the phone)Hello Dr. Mitchell, its Bette Porter.

Bette: I know I havent called you in awhile.

Bette: No, I dont need to make an appointment to come in. I just needed your advice.

Bette: As you know, Tina and I are back together and everything has been great but

Bette: Well, I cant seem to get past the last hurdle.

Bette: Yes, intimacy.

(Pause)

Bette: I know you said it would take time and believe me Ive been patient.

Bette: The problem isnt Tina, its me.

Bette: I have had several opportunities, none of which have been my doing, and I cant do it.

Bette: Yes, Im totally aroused and want to take it to the next levelIm justIm just scared.

(Pause)

Bette: I know and I understand, but I cant help thinking once things get started Tina will pull away.

Bette: No, if anything shes getting frustrated because I keep pulling away. She even questioned if I wanted her.

Bette: Absolutely! You have no idea how much I want her and Im not going into details about my desire for her.

(Pause)

Bette: I just want everything to be perfect. The last time we were intimate was that night.

(Long Pause)

Bette: Tina doesnt seem to have any reservations and I dont know why I do. I have never had any self-control when it came to Tina and for some reason I have enough now to share with others.

(Pause)

Bette: Maybe youre right. I did try to explain myself to Tina and I think she understands.

(Pause)

Bette: Youre right. I need to further explain my reservations to Tina. I need to make her understand that Im just scared and that it has nothing to do with being intimate with her per se.

Bette: Yes, I would like to try couples counseling once we have officially become a couple.

Bette: We are, as she puts it, dating!

Bette: I consider us a couple, but in a sense no we arent.

Bette: When we are back together, living together, sharing a bed in a committed relationship, thats when Ill let my shield down. But until then, we are just dating and the possibility is always there that shell leave.

(Long Pause)

Bette: I think shes coming around. Im just not sure when shell be ready to take that step.

Bette: No, Ive avoided that subject because I promised not to push her.

(Pause)

Bette: I would love nothing more than to propose to her and make her my wife again, but Im afraid that wouldnt be a wise decision.

Bette: Because she hasnt even moved back in. (Becoming annoyed)Have you even been listening to me?

(Pause)

Bette: Im sorry, Im just on edge and frustrated. I dont know what to do at this point. I feel as though we are at a crossroad. Do I take the right path or the left path?

(Pause)

Bette: Were having dinner tonight. Ill feel out our situation and talk to Tina. Somethings gotta give and soon.

Bette: Thanks Dr. Mitchell. Ill call you and let you know about couples counseling.

[Bette had just hung up the phone when she heard a knock at the door.]
