With a little help from my friends-chapter 6

Bette walked over to her car and watched Alice and George drive away. She was going to go back to work but decided against it. She felt she had enough of the day and decided to head home. She pulled up to a dark and empty house. She slowly heaved hoerself out of the car and walked up to the front door with heavy feet. She began to remember all the times she would come home to a warm candle lit house, and when Tina would be waiting for her with open arms. No matter how horrible her day had gone Tina would always make it better. “What the ***** have I done” she thaught as tears started to form in her eyes. She reluctantly opened the front door and stood there for a moment taking in all of the cold darkness. She finally stepped in the door and turned on the light. She walked into the middle of the living room and looked around. “Oh Tina….I can’t do this without you..” she wispered as she dropped her head. Her tears were now flowing freely. Moments later she heard something behind her. She turned her head around to find Tina standing in the doorway.

Bette: “Tina..” she said before Tina cut her off.

Tina: “No Bette….don’t say anything….I can’t hear your voice right now.” she said as tears started streaming down her face “I need to pick up sone things. I thaught you would be at work”

Bette started to walk over to her. She just wanted to hold her and tell her she was sorry.

Tina: “Please Bette! Don’t come near me.” she said quickly walking away from her.

Bette followed Tina down the hall and into their bedroom. Tina stopped at the door and survayed the room for a minute, then she entered. Bette followed and stood at the door and watched her grab a bag from her closet and then she proceded to gather up some clothing. She headed into the bathroom and grabbed her toothbrush. She walked right past Bette in the hallway and walked towards the front door. When she got there she stopped and stood facing the street. Bette stopped about 10 feet way from her.

Bette: “Tina….please…don’t leave.” she said taking a step.

Tina: “I can’t look at you right now” she said still facing the door, “When I look at you my heart hurts. I can’t breathe. All I see is her..” she said as she began to sob

Bette: “Tina please…don’t….im sorry T…..im so sorry….i lov-” Tina quickly turned around to interupt her.

Tina: “Don’t Bette…don’t say it” she said then turned to walk out the door.

Bette quickly went after her to stop her. She grabbed her arm and spun her around. Tina dropped her bag and landed in Bette’s arms. She started pushing her away as soon as she felt her grasp. Bette held her tighter the harder she faught. Tina’s body and mind grew tired and she allowed Bette to hold her as she cried in her sholder.

Bette: “Shhh…im sorry….” she wispered as she held Tina as close as she could.

Tina was so taken in by emotion. She needed to be held once last time before she walked out. She finally broke her grasp and grabbed her bag. She turned around and looked at Bette who was standing two feet away.

Tina: “I feel sick being here. I have to go” with that she walked out the door and got into her car. She took a deep breath and put her hands on her stearing wheel. She pulled out of the driveway and down the street.

Bette stood on the porch and watched her drive away.
