    Young Folks – Chapter 19

Helena hurriedly ran up the stairs in her high heels. Getting to the front door of their apartment, she quickly unlocks it and rushes in, hoping to find Bette at home.

“Bette?” She called out as she walked towards the brunette’s bedroom.

“Bette?” She called out louder, this time knocking on the bedroom door, waiting impatiently for a response.

Upon receiving no response, Helena twisted the door knob to let herself into Bette’s bedroom. The bed was nicely made, the room was clean and tidy as usual, but her phone and car keys weren’t on the dressing table.

“Damn it,” Helena cussed under her breath. The thought of Bette hanging out, making out with that Sierra girl quickly crept into her head although she willed herself not to think about it.

Helena could feel her anger rising. She was angry at herself for being so stupid, so foolish. She had the most wonderful and beautiful girl in the world but she let her get away. She denied all the feelings she had for Bette and now she was starting to regret.

She liked Bette a lot. Okay, no, she was in love with Bette. Bette is smart, funny, cute, gorgeous, kind and fascinating. She had always found Bette fascinating. Her complexity may have drove Helena crazy every now and then but it also fascinates her, leaving Helena wanting to find out and learn more about what goes on in that pretty head of hers.

But it is probably too late by now. Sierra would probably be stuffing her tongue down Bette’s throat, running her hands scandalously over Bette’s body.

Arrghhh… Helena tried to shake off those unwanted thoughts in her head.

“Helena?” Helena jumped at the sound of her name. She turned around to find Bette standing behind her.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” Bette chuckled softly.

Helena smiled at the sound of Bette’s laughter. That was such a precious moment. That chuckle, it sounded so childlike, so genuine.

“I don’t want to seem rude or anything but what are you doing in my bedroom?” Bette asked teasingly.

“Oh right.” Helena quickly realized that she was in Bette’s bedroom. She quickly explained, “I just got home from my parents and I thought I would come in to check on you to see how you were doing, you know.”
