    You’re my home

    Chapter 26

     

    Bette put the last of Angie’s brightly coloured books in a packing crate and looked around what had been her daughter’s room. She knew that Angie had liked this room but it would never be as special as her bedroom at home. Bette couldn’t help but think back to when Tina had moved into this place -she had been raw after her break up with Henry and this had been the first house she had seen when her lease on her other place had run out. Bette hadn’t wanted her to take the first option but Tina just wanted a home for Angie and herself and had defied Bette and signed the lease anyway.

    Maybe Tina just needed to make decisions on her own without having Bette always wanting the final say. In that way Tina had changed – she was much more forceful and got her own way more than she ever had when they had been married. Bette was certain that this Tina wasn’t going to let herself become submerged under Bette’s alpha personality – in fact there were times when Tina had made it very clear that she was going to do things her way whether Bette wanted her to or not.

     

    Jodie had been like that – but without the mischief in her eyes and the sheer love in her heart that made Tina’s strength so appealing. Even though only two months had passed since she had split up with Jodie Bette did struggle sometimes to remember what had ever possessed her to chase the artist with such determination. Maybe it was because she hated to lose – it cannot have been as obvious as the fact that they had a good relationship – because they didn’t. Bette saw that clearly now – she felt nothing for Jodie but sadness and contempt.

    Tina came in from loading up her car with items for the women’s refuge. So much of the things that she had bought after she had moved into this home she was now giving away. None of it fitted in with Bette’s décor – Bette had suggested that they keep several items but it had been Tina who had wanted to make the clean break. They were redecorating Bette’s house room by room which was enough for Tina to feel comfortable with this being a new start for all three of them. Plus if they did decide to put the house on the market in six months as they had initially agreed the decorations would help them sell faster.

Wonderful to have Bette, Tina and Angelica become a family again, right under the watchful eyes of their friends. What a bombshell Shane dropped with her revelation that she is still seeing Nikki.     12. Ah sh….Is Shane crazy??? Tina tells Jenny Nikki asks about her everyday and now Shane confesses that Nikki and her are still seeing one another. What the hell????

    13. wow…shane is relentless isn’t she? took Carmen from Jenny and now Niki, why does she do that? envy? or what? I feel for Jenny; she’s crazy enuff without Shane doing this shit. PPS.

    14. Hold up Rau, Carmen always wanted Shane. It was only Shane’s fear of commitment that allowed Jenny to move in on Carmen. I agree that Shane still seeing Shane will be a HUGE issue with Jenny. Maybe Nikki is the player here. She is like a kid in a candy shop, wanting to taste all of the flavors.
