DAWN: The unauthorized new finale to the Twilight series
CHAPTER 19:
INSANITY
Where was I? A forest? A cave? The darkness surrounded me in such a way that I couldn’t tell where I was. I began to walk, sticking out my hands to feel around. Finally, I grabbed a mossy tree, and realized I was in the woods.
My feet cautiously moved along, trying not to trip like the clumsy old Bella that I was. It still didn’t prevent me from stepping on my feet now and then.
What were those noises? The sound of the forest surrounded me as I squinted through the fog, trying to see. I could hear birds and insects chirping in the distance.
I continued walking, when I tripped over a fallen tree. Strangely, it didn’t hurt. The dewy grass smeared over me, I pushed myself back up and continued on, when I realized I had lost my shoe.
Falling back to the forest floor, I felt around, trying to find the shoe I just stupidly lost. The wet grass squished between my hands as I felt around, when finally, I felt it under my hands.
I tried picking it up, but it wouldn’t budge. Then I realized. This wasn’t my shoe. This shoe was on another foot.
I stood up quickly, startled. I screamed.
“Shh,” Said the voice, “Calm down.”
“Who are you? What do you want?” I asked shakily.
“Nothing,” The voice said, “Bella, it’s me.”
Jacob Black stood before me.
“You’re here.” I gasped, “Jacob!”
I wrapped my arms around him, and he returned the hug.
“I thought I’d never see you again!”
“Me too,” He said.
“Jacob,” I began, “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry-”
“Don’t be,” Said Jacob, “It doesn’t matter anymore.
“Oh, Jacob,” I wrapped my arms around him again, wanting nothing but to be with him once more.
“Sam had no right,” I said, tearing up, “He had no right to do what he did.”
Jacob didn’t argue. He held me tightly, the warmth of his body flooding me. I began to itch and sweat from the heat, but I didn’t care. It was the best feeling in the world right now. Because it was coming from Jacob.
As the fog slowly went away, I could see his face. His face, looking back at me. His copper complexion, his warm smile.
