Jorey looked down at her bag, “Dammit.” She answered the phone, “Hello?”
“Hey Jor where are you? I’ve been looking for you but you’re not outside.”
“Oh, hey Spence. I’m in the locker room right now I’ll be out in a second.”
“Kay, bye.”
“Bye.” Jorey hung up the phone. Madison was now standing straight up looking at Jorey with an angry look on her face. “What?”
“Nothing. I just…NOTHING!” Madison walked out of the locker room in anguish. Jorey didn’t know what was going on. She had to find Spencer and fast.
Jorey found Spencer at her locker. She must have been getting her books for her first few classes. “Hey Spence can we have that talk now?”
Spencer turned around, “Finally, there you are. Yeah let’s talk. What’s up?”
“Well, it’s Madison.”
“Don’t tell me you’re going back to that whole ‘revenge’ thing again.”
“Oh no, not at all. It’s just…we’re friends right…well…I dunno.”
“Whoa, major mixed signals here Jor.”
“Spence, last night after you and Ash left Madison left too. I was alone with Aiden.”
“And tell me why that’s a bad thing?” Spencer asked sarcastically.
“That’s just it Spence. It shouldn’t have been. But while I was kissing him I was thinking about someone completely different. And believe me when I say COMPLETELY.”
Spencer put the clues together and tried not to burst out laughing, “Oh my god! You have a thing for Madison!”
“Spence, please stop laughing. This is serious. I’ve never thought about a girl this way. I don’t even know how to handle this. Basically I just need an outline of what the hell I should do to deal with this.”
Spencer was still laughing, “I’m sorry. Really. It’s just…Madison?” Spencer finally stopped laughing. Jorey was on the verge of tears and Spencer noticed, “Jor, it’s not unusual. I mean when I first admitted that I liked girls I was scared too. But someone made me realize that it’s not what everyone else wants that’s the most important. It’s what you want. If you like her, you like her. You can’t help that.” There was silence for a few seconds, “And what does Madison think about all this?”
