    Spencer is faced with uncertainty

    Spencer: “What did she say to you, what hap…”

    Ashley: “Nothing bad.” I sooth as I take her hand in mine. “She just happened to mention…something.”

    Spencer: “What did she mention?” She asks, eyes narrowing.

    Ashley: “She might have mentioned that she was glad with how happy we make each other.” I look down at the hand I’m holding and stroke the surface of her soft skin hoping it calms her down, I can practically hear her heart rate accelerate and I feel her body stiffen in fear.

    Spencer: “Wait…wh…what?!” She sort of shakes her head, I guess trying to clear it.

    Ashley: “She knows I guess.”

    Spencer: “Wait, wait, wait, how the hell does she know?!” She retracts her hand, runs both through her hair, stands and starts to pace.

    Ashley: “When I asked her, she said ‘you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” She stops pacing and whips around to look at me. Her eyes are wide and searching.

    Spencer: “What the hell does that mean?”

    Ashley: “To me, it sounds like we’re not the only ones with dreams of things that have never happened.” She slowly walks back to the bed and plops down, eyes on the floor.

    Spencer
    : “But my mom?” She asks in an incredulous tone.

    Ashley: “She also asked me not to tell you about our conversation. She wants you to go to her on your own time.” She stands again, agitation apparent, and looks wildly around her room.

    Spencer: “Should I…should I go talk to her now?” She asks facing the door, like she’s waiting for some Donnie Darko like liquid wave to crawl out of her stomach and show her the right path.

    Ashley: “She said she had work early tomorrow…”

    Spencer: “I can’t wait! How the hell am I supposed to wait until tomorrow night to talk to her about this?!” She says spinning around to look at me.

    Ashley: “Spencer, if you have to talk to her about it now, then talk to her about it now. I’m sure neither one of you will be able to get a descent night’s sleep until you do.” She nods wordlessly and turns to face the door. She slowly starts moving her feet and reaches out her hand to take the doorknob until she abruptly turns around and runs over to me.

    9. you know, i realized that the oliver twist we’ve all come to know and love is actually an abridged version. the real version goes: ‘please, ma’am, may I have some…. I’m sure you’ll keep us hanging on for now but I like the concept. Throws another twist into the tale so to speak…..One complaint, Spencer, Ashley…..freakin handcuffs and pantie gag…..BUT NO SEX!!!! Cruelty dosen’t begin to describe it! Ahhh, I still love you despite the torture! PMS….please!!
