The Least I Can Do – (Chap. 6)

                                                       You take my breath away,

                                                                           Ashley

Spencer blushed even more as a smile spread across her face when she read the card. Just reading it gave Spencer butterflies, after last night she didn’t think Ashley could be any more perfect, but she kept proving Spencer wrong. By this point most of the boys and well a few of the girls in the class where very jealous of who ever it was that had sent the flowers. They could all see her blushing, as she read the card.

Ms. Carlin: “Alright, class getting back to what we just reading.”

A girl in the front of the class raised her hand.

    Ms. Carlin: “Yes, Cassie?”

Cassie: “Ms. Carlin, before we get back to that poem thing, we were all just wondering who sent you the flowers.” The class nodded in agreement. Spencer laughed when she saw their reaction.

Ms. Carlin: “Well, Cassie they are from someone I went on a date with last night.”

Becky: “What’s his name?” another girl blurted out. Spencer couldn’t hold back her laughter at her student’s obvious curiosity.

Ms. Carlin: “Well, Becky her name is Ashley.”

“I knew it.” Said two girls in the back simultaneously. The whole class laughed a little, including Spencer.

Becky: “It’s cool Ms. Carlin, you just broke most of the boys in this school’s heart, but we don’t care.”

Ms. Carlin: “Well thanks Becky. Now. Back to what we were saying before the flowers got here.” Spencer said trying to get her class focused again.

The remaining few hours of school where pretty uneventful for Spencer. She couldn’t wait to for 2:30 when school was finished, hoping that Ashley would call her tonight as she had promised.

Ashley was now sitting at her kitchen table, her and Ben each eating a burrito Ashley has made them.

Ben: “So, you ready for our show tomorrow rock star?”

Ashley: “Yeah, I’ll need to go over our newest song at practice later, but other than that, I’m ready as always.”

Ben: “We leave for the city tomorrow afternoon, and then we won’t be back till Thursday night. Giving us more than enough time to play the show, and met a few girls along the way.”

Ashley: “Ben, I thought we were living all the crap back in LA.”
