    Until I saw her

    Kyla’s P.O.V.

Until I saw her, I never considered casting myself in this play, and I certainly never considered the possibility that I might be a lesbian either. I mean, I’ve had boyfriends before. It got serious with a couple of them too, but never serious enough. Until I saw her, I thought that the reason that none of those relationships worked out was either immaturity, timing, he wasn’t the right guy for me, or maybe all of the above. However, now I’m wondering if I haven’t found the right guy because the right person for me isn’t a guy at all. Now I’m wondering if she’s the one for me. I never considered any of this until I saw her, but now I have to reconsider everything.

Her name’s Spencer Carlin. She’s twenty-four year old from a small town in Ohio who moved here to the big city of Los Angeles in hopes of making it as an actress. I know you’ve probably heard stories like hers before. I know I’ve seen many actors and actresses with similar ambitions during the short time that I’ve been in the business. They come here in search of stardom, a way to tell their story, each one trying to make themselves stand out, but there’re only so many different ways to tell the same story, that the very things they think make them stand out make them ordinary.

Not her. Not to me. She’s extraordinary. I want to run my fingers through her long blonde hair as I stare deep into her eyes. Oh her eyes, it’s as if God took all of the blues of the world mixed them together and created the perfect shade of blue for which all other blues are modeled after, but none come close. When God gave her the gift of sight, he gave us a gift too because it’s like getting a gift every time we get to look into her eyes. I want to place a kiss upon her lips, which seem to form a smile with every word. Even the coldest of hearts would melt after one look at this girl.

As if that isn’t enough to get me question my sexuality, and believe me, it is! It’s really hot in this tiny performance space here at the Rec. Center, the perspiration just enough to make her skin shine brighter under the light. Her shirt now clings to her skin giving me an unaccepted, not unwelcome view of her nipples!
