    Chapter Twenty One

There’s a knock, knock on my door. My mouth waters. I hear breathing on the other side. Nervous anticipation. I crack, crack one set of fingers then the other. Weight shifts from one side to the other, outside she waits, doesn’t knock again. Shower clean and ready I am. Get up I say in my skull, get up walk over open the door and try not murder her. Kiss her, make it all go away. This is the plan. I have a plan.

    Yeah….right.

Walking over, room is clean, bed is made. Ready to be unmade. That’s what this is about. What’s it’s always been about. Comforting thought, that after all this time and various rich and thick levels of blood, its comforting to know that the bed is made and ready to be…unmade.

My hand is on the door knob. Just open it. Ok. Here we go.

I open the door and there she is. Arms bare, jeans, same old military boots that are the all the apocalyptic rage in this time. Lips red, eyes so very dark yes, fuck. She walks in without being invited, nothing new for her. She is a conqueror and a survivor, a hold over of having never grown up with a predetermined identity. No one ever said grow up and be a doctor. The door clicks shut. I lock it for some odd reason.

It rains all over the city. Wet drops hitting everything like so many bullets. No death, just this traveling circus that my brother is the master of.

Back to her though. Smooth and still so intoxicating. What’s new? She sits on the edge of the bed and runs her hand in her hair. I don’t know that one moment snapped something in me but I was too numb to respond. Is this what I am supposed to be?

    Say something.

    Say anything.

    Nothing.

    1. ya, I’m glad to have discovered your master pieces. It’s always sad to bid farewell, but never say never..even though you won’t be writing anymore, will you still be around these forums? Do drop by to visit us or drop a note every now and then. There’s no need to cut all ties is there?

    4. Hey hey….soooooooo sad to see that this is your last fic….you will be sorely missed. you’re definitely one of my favorite fan fic writers. thanks for letting us into your genius mind and taking us on these awesome sharmen adventures…i loved every second of them…Thanks again…C.

    5. WOW! They did it! Can’t believe they found their way back to one another. I kinda had a wee bit of sympathy for Shamus when he died but knew he had to go. I’m not going to try & fight the inevitable, cause one thing I’ve learned about writers is that if the passion is gone, let it go cause it’ll only lead to writers block. Your AU stories were incredible & I’m personally glad that you chose Sharmen as the oulet to your fics. I just have one request PLEASE don’t remove any of your stories. I plan on reading them allover again, from start to finish. If you ever have the desire to start writing again you know we’ll all be ecstatic to have you back. Take care & best of luck w/ all future endeavors. You’ll be missed.

    6. Last comments from me: No I will not take my stories down, No I will not be visting the forums, and no this is not a hiatus my writing is done. I’ve done all I can do and I have devoted myself completely to my band and my music, thank you all again for your time. Its been a blast.

    7. Wow. I can’t believe that it’s all over. I loved every word that you have written down and shared with us. I hope that you have a great life. And thank you for sharing your mind with all of us. I love the NIN quote as always. I know I have said that many times before. I will re-read all of your stories, again and again. FUCK FIVE STARS! TEN STARS FOR YOU! lol

    8. well, I know I’m ridiculously late in posting this but I’m hoping you’re still checking back every once in awhile. I just wanted to de-robe as long-term lurker (since you asked so nicely and all) and say how much I have enjoyed reading all of your stories. I have been touched by many of them and, perhaps oddly, felt more human after reading all of them. So thanks, you did a good job. And best of luck with all of your future endeavours — you will be missed here but I have no doubt will find new successes (and fan clubs!) elsewhere.

    9. really? no more from you? *shocked*…your creative brain is fantastic, and you should use it wherever you wish to use it. best of luck, and i’m saying it again…there had better be some attempts (if there haven’t been already) write ‘out there’ in published form of some kind or other…perhaps your own website? something that will benefit you a bit more, and allow your creative brilliance to flourish. best of luck:)

    10. Damn!! It’s amazing how much every fic you wrote touched me deep.. they made me angry, sad and happy, all at the same time and that’s why I always loved the way you write.. really. Your fic ‘The line begins to blur’ was the first one I’ve ever ever read in my life and I was hooked to your style from minute one. I think (I’m not sure) that you had already written everytinhg up until ‘Missing’ when I started reading.. man, I couldn’t stop.. all I did all day was read, read and read. Thank you so much for it. I’ll take you and your stories forever with me.. Thanks again. =D Take care of yourself and I really hope life treats you well, NDF. Like many hav already said: You’ll be missed.
