Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 23
Chapter 23
Angelica wasn’t sure she heard correctly. She looked at Lyndsay and stated “Daddy?”
Lyndsay looked at Angie and said “Yes, Ang, this is my father, David MacKenzie…..I believe you have already met.”
Angie was now really confused.
However, so was David.as he asked Lyndsay “You painted this? But how? When??”
Lyndsay looked at her dad. “I started painting a couple of years ago. I just picked up a brush and some paint one day, grabbed a small canvas and started painting. I have everything I have ever painted in a storage locker at home.”
David looked at his daughter. “I…….I had no idea that you possessed an artistic talent like this. Sweetie, if the others are anything like this one……”
Impatiently Lyndsay looked at her father and responded, “Dad, I just paint for me, it’s a hobby, I am not an artist.”
Just then Bette walked into the office.
“Ang, there are a number of people looking for you in the gallery wanting to make purch…………….”
Everyone turned to Bette. Angelica glared at her mother. She was fuming and held very little back as she voiced her displeasure at what Bette had done. “How could you? I explicitly told you that the painting was not for sale and was not to be displayed in the gallery. Now I have ten people wanting to buy it.”
Bette knew she was in trouble, but tried to reason with her daughter, “Ang, please let me explain.”
Angelica was in no mood for apologies or explanations at that particular moment, “Not now mother………excuse me, but I need to get back out to the gallery.” She turned to Lyndsay and said “Lynds, I’m sorry, but I really had no idea the painting was out there, I hope you believe me.” With that said she turned and walked out of her office.
As she made her way down the corridor, she was fuming on the inside, but knew that before she re-entered the gallery that she needed to get control of her emotions. This was a very important night for the gallery, so she would deal with her mother and talk to Lyndsay later.
Back in Angie’s office, Bette saw David MacKenzie standing next to Lyndsay. “David, how nice to see you again….it’s been a long time.”

So happy to see this post. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Angie but they will work out their problems. Lynds has a lot of explaining to do to her parents and she should do it quickly and not wait as Tina advised, since she does know whereof she speaks. Lynds would be very wise to talk with Tina and gain a perspective that would take years for her to learn and experience. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Tina also but we know that everything will be worked out in the bedroom with those two after much talking and apologizing. Great chapter. PPS
Great update
Safe to say Bette probably is in the dog house with Tina tonight! Can’t wait to see their next conversation. Lynds is wise to confide in Tina. Tina’s been in her position and can give her better perspective. Great update. PPS
Bravo Taz, take a bow, this is an incredible story with some pretty bendy roads. Thank you, Md
I don’t think theirs a dog house big enough to hold Bette at this point. Her daughter is pissed at her, and you know Tina isn’t going to let it go. Angie, just needs to go be with Lyndsay. Love Tina’s advice. Hopefully Lyndsay’s faimly will be as understanding as they’ve raised her when it comes to their daughter.
Tazzie!!! I’ve been waiting for you to post so I could give you the official comment! I was happy to receive this in my In Box the morning of my birthday, and have waited to share my thoughts. Girl, you have a whirlwind of things happening all at once, and you are keeping everything tied together so well. I LOVED the connection between David and Tina and the surprise it brought to Bette, to Lyndsay, to Angie…not to mention to even Tina who was surprised to learn David was Lyndsay’s father! Bette is in a world of POO for disregarding her daughter’s wishes. Angie is old enough to make her own decisions, and like it or not if it is a mistake to be made it is Angie’s to make. The air was thick for sure, and one could cut it with a knife. I love your writing, and am looking forward to your next update! {{HUGS}}
I really enjoy this tale that you are weaving. Look forward to more when you have time.
Such a delight to have this story continue to unfold with its many surprises. I look forward to your next post.
Hey, Tazie! Great update, sweetie. We just love how you are unveiling this story to us. We are amazed by the creativity and freshness of your characters. You know we are totally hooked, huh? PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)

I’ve been looking for another post of this great story…thanks for posting and PPS.
Yay a new chapter from Taz. Thanks friend. Loook forward to the next one.
Yep…Bette’s in the deepest of ca ca that’s for sure. And Tina’s not too happy with her either…maybe she’ll be sleeping on the couch tonight. Great update Taz…thanks!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that you had time to post another chapter, and what a chapter. Yes Bette is in DEEP do-do with her family, and is so far in the “Dog House” that the dog walked out og the house LOL. I know that B&T will work things out, but Bette will probably appologise to Lyndsay before she is able to make peace with Anglica. A GREAT chapter Taz, PPS :o).
