Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 23
He walked over to her and shook her hand. “Yes it has been a long time. I heard you had taken on a position at a college in California and were out of the gallery business.”
“Yes, I did. It’s been quite enjoyable working with new up and coming talent.” As she said this she looked over at Lyndsay. Looking back at David “I never miss an opening at my daughter’s gallery however, it’s always a great way to stay current and catch up with friends and former clients.”
Lyndsay was not at all happy with Bette and wanted to get away from her as soon as possible. She looked at her Dad and asked him to come with her so she could explain about the painting.
David excused himself from Bette and walked over to Tina “It was really nice to see you again, I hope it isn’t another twenty years.” He kissed her on cheek and followed Lyndsay out of the office.
They made their way back to a quiet part of the gallery and Lyndsay continued her explanation.
“Dad, I didn’t tell anyone that I was painting because it just became a hobby. You know I have always liked to draw and sketch and you have seen some of my drawings and designs first hand…..one day I just thought I would try to do it with paint instead. “
“Lyndsay, you have an amazing talent. I am so proud of you sweetheart. I just don’t understand why you didn’t tell me.”
“I don’t know. You are always so busy and I didn’t think anything of it, like I said it’s just a hobby.”
“Lynds, I am never too busy for you. I have always tried to make time for you, but sometimes my work just gets in the way.”
“I know Dad, and I’m not complaining, I know what you do is important, and you’ve always made time for me, but this is just such a personal thing. It became a creative outlet for me, something I just did with no expectations from anyone….it was just for me.”
As he stared at his daughter, David realized that his little girl wasn’t so little any more and that she now had a life of her own, one that he wasn’t a part of. This was a startling realization for him as he tried to understand how he had missed this change. He was certainly proud of her and all that she had accomplished in her life. Now, if the reaction of those other people was any indication he thought she may want to consider a career change. As he relayed that thought to her she replied

So happy to see this post. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Angie but they will work out their problems. Lynds has a lot of explaining to do to her parents and she should do it quickly and not wait as Tina advised, since she does know whereof she speaks. Lynds would be very wise to talk with Tina and gain a perspective that would take years for her to learn and experience. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Tina also but we know that everything will be worked out in the bedroom with those two after much talking and apologizing. Great chapter. PPS
Great update
Safe to say Bette probably is in the dog house with Tina tonight! Can’t wait to see their next conversation. Lynds is wise to confide in Tina. Tina’s been in her position and can give her better perspective. Great update. PPS
Bravo Taz, take a bow, this is an incredible story with some pretty bendy roads. Thank you, Md
I don’t think theirs a dog house big enough to hold Bette at this point. Her daughter is pissed at her, and you know Tina isn’t going to let it go. Angie, just needs to go be with Lyndsay. Love Tina’s advice. Hopefully Lyndsay’s faimly will be as understanding as they’ve raised her when it comes to their daughter.
Tazzie!!! I’ve been waiting for you to post so I could give you the official comment! I was happy to receive this in my In Box the morning of my birthday, and have waited to share my thoughts. Girl, you have a whirlwind of things happening all at once, and you are keeping everything tied together so well. I LOVED the connection between David and Tina and the surprise it brought to Bette, to Lyndsay, to Angie…not to mention to even Tina who was surprised to learn David was Lyndsay’s father! Bette is in a world of POO for disregarding her daughter’s wishes. Angie is old enough to make her own decisions, and like it or not if it is a mistake to be made it is Angie’s to make. The air was thick for sure, and one could cut it with a knife. I love your writing, and am looking forward to your next update! {{HUGS}}
I really enjoy this tale that you are weaving. Look forward to more when you have time.
Such a delight to have this story continue to unfold with its many surprises. I look forward to your next post.
Hey, Tazie! Great update, sweetie. We just love how you are unveiling this story to us. We are amazed by the creativity and freshness of your characters. You know we are totally hooked, huh? PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)

I’ve been looking for another post of this great story…thanks for posting and PPS.
Yay a new chapter from Taz. Thanks friend. Loook forward to the next one.
Yep…Bette’s in the deepest of ca ca that’s for sure. And Tina’s not too happy with her either…maybe she’ll be sleeping on the couch tonight. Great update Taz…thanks!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that you had time to post another chapter, and what a chapter. Yes Bette is in DEEP do-do with her family, and is so far in the “Dog House” that the dog walked out og the house LOL. I know that B&T will work things out, but Bette will probably appologise to Lyndsay before she is able to make peace with Anglica. A GREAT chapter Taz, PPS :o).
