At first sight
Story written on February 15, 2011 by kins40.
She excused herself politely and started walking towards Tina. Dana had witnessed Bette’s reaction from the moment they’d entered the room. As Bette neared, Dana moved away after making brief eye contact with the brunette.
Tina was left alone only for the split second it took Bette to reach her.
The blonde felt Dana move away suddenly and felt another presence almost just as quickly. A hand placed itself on her waist as the figure moved closer. She immediately recognised the fragrance which enveloped her almost instantly, she relaxed.
"Bette!" she breathed. Her sudden appearance had startled her somewhat but she was now relishing her closeness.
She felt her head move to the side of her face as Bette whispered in her ear, her voice deep and low.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you……you are positively breathtaking!"
Bette moved back slightly and placed a kiss on Tina’s cheek. She lingered on for a bit and let out a small sigh and spoke again.
"I would very much like to welcome you better than that but I fear that we would get an audience"
Tina blushed profusely at the memory that statement brought back. Their first kiss. "I would love nothing better" she boldly replied.
Both women were grinning uncontrollably. There was no doubt to whoever had witnessed the encounter that a spark had ignited. The same spark that could light up a roaring fire at any point.
"Come, let’s meet up with the gang…they are all here tonight you know…" Bette said as she eagerly took Tina’s hand in hers, "they have been asking about you…..it’s a good sign….they like you,!"
They made their way to the group of friends and Tina was reacquainted with the people Bette considered her family. It was an honour to her to have been accepted so readily by the women. Bette had to excuse herself momentarily. Tina understood. As the host Bette had a duty to perform. As the gallery owner left her side she felt her hand brush from the side of her hip, where it had been resting, and along the whole width of her lower back. She shivered.
