"I don’t feel like I’m in danger," Bette said.

"That’s what makes it worse! You never know until it’s all gone!" Tina said, "I love you too much to do that to you."

"I love you too Tina," Bette said, "I wanna be with you."

"I love you soo much and that’s why I can’t be with you Bette," Tina said sadly, "there’s just no way."

Bette sat there, deep in thought before saying, "I’ll find a way. Whatever the hell it is that makes it impossible for us to be together, I will figure it out and find a way past it."

Tina sighed deeply and said, "come on, let’s change back into our traveling gear so we can leave after we talk to the spirits."

Bette nodded and put on her travel shirt then proceeded to take off the skin shorts and put on her own.

Tina tried not to watch as she slipped on her green corset dress, but Bette couldn’t help but oogle at her as she changed into her dress.

"Stop staring will ya?" Tina laughed swatting at Bette’s face playfully.

Bette laughed and said, "what? You have a nice ass! Oh and I love your legs!"

"I’ve been told they’re my best feature," Tina said with a wink. Or what looked like a wink.

"That was a fail," Bette teased grabbing her sword and her pack.

"Don’t make fun of me jerk," Tina laughed slipping her knives into her boots and grabbing her own pack.

They looked at each other and smiled. They loved that they had the ability to forget everything by just talking to each other. Just looking at each other. Like everything else ceased to exist when they were together.

"Mother confessor, seeker," Marcus said at the door, "we are ready to summon the spirits."

    "Thanks Marcus," Tina responded.

"What’d he say?" Bette asked following Tina to the door.

"That they’re ready," Tina said opening the cabin door and walking out with Bette in toll. They walked together to the center of the village where Marcus had just sat down in the giant circle where all the villagers were sitting cross-legged chanting a hymn in their language.

They all had their eyes closed and Angus led the chant as the skies started to churn. "Come on Bette," Tina whispered pulling Bette into the middle of the circle where they stood and looked up at the sky, "they will address us."

"Bette Porter," a deep voice whispered.

"Tina Kennard," the voice said a little louder.

"Seeker of truth, mother confessor," he continued.

"Oh spirits who guide us and hear our prayers," Tina chanted softly, "guide us to Faye Buckley to protect the people and the world that you have so craftfully created."

"You will find Buckley in D’hara," the spirits answered, "she is protected by a large castle, and thousands of guards, and magic so dark that it could destroy the most innocent of lights."

"So how do we stop her spirits?" Tina asked.

"She cannot defeat the power of love," the spirits said, "you must stick together at all times."

"What do I have to do to stop her spirits?" Bette asked her voice shaky from fear. She didn’t like messing with the dead or the spirits.

"There’s no reason to fear me Seeker," the spirits said, "you will win the battle as long as you have love in your heart, the moment you lose it, all is lost. You will lose friends and family, but whatever you do, never lose your love."
