I’ll Never Let You Go: Chapter 32

Her heart was beating so fast, a million things running in her mind that she didn’t even know which one to focus on first. She glanced at her watch it had been two hours already since Bette went inside the senior partner’s office but still she didn’t have any idea of what’s going on.
The blonde was startled by the loud knock on the door
“Come in…” Alice said
Both Tina and Alice took a deep breath when Shane stepped inside the room
“Fuck Shane you almost gave me a heart attack!” Alice exclaimed
“Sorry guys, I was really worried when I heard what happened…” Shane went around the blonde’s table to give her friend a tight hug. They’d been the best of friends since college that she knew with situation like this the blonde would need a comforting hug to calm her nerves. Shane’s gesture brought tears to Tina’s eyes. The lanky brunette gently pulled away from the embrace to look on the blonde’s orbs
“Tina is that true? Bette’s now talking to Mr. Foldings and Mr. Sherman?” Shane asked
“Yes and the last thing that I heard Frank Jelleck is on a conference call talking to all of them!”
“Frank Jelleck? Isn’t he the big boss from New Jersey?”
“Yes he is Bette’s boss and owns seventy percent of this firm which made me more nervous because this is something really serious and I don’t have the fucking clue on what’s going on right now!…” the blonde’s stood up and started walking towards the door
“I can’t take this anymore I’m going to that office right now!”
“Whoa, whoa Tina calm down I don’t think it’s a good idea to just barge in” Shane said and quickly pulled the blonde’s arm and led her to one of the chairs
“Shane’s right TK, we don’t know what’s going on inside the office and I don’t think showing yourself to them is the right thing to do now” Alice added
“But what if they fired Bette because of me? I’m not going to let that happen, I love her so much that I’m willing to resign if I have to”
“Tina I know this must have been really hard for you but let’s not jump to any conclusion ok? The best thing that we have to do now is to wait”

First I want to say happy 1 yr anniversary and thanks for sharing such wonderful stories! I so loved this chapter because it really showed the love between Bette and Tina. phacey – Happy anniversary. Time does fly when you’re having fun. Thanks for the update on this story, and special thanks for not leaving us hanging off the cliff again :-). I never thought the whole dating a subordinate thing was a good idea but I suppose now they deal with the consequences. I agree with Dainty they should probably both quit and either start their own practice or work at separate firms. They are doing great as a couple and have really come a long way from where they started.

So glad this whole thing has backfired on helena and jodi. Helena can now explain to Peggy why she did this. Now this leaves the way clear for Bette and Tina to resign and start their own firm with Shane and Alice as partners. helena will never suspect that that might happen. And since Peggy likes Bette so well, I’m sure she would transfer her business to the new firm. I love that helena will be in deep shit with her mother. Really like story. Thanks.
