Chapter 40

The next day, their plan was to just relax, maybe do some shopping in Raleigh. They area now seated at the kitchen table, eating breakfast.

“So, what are your plans for today?” Joanne asks as she hands the breadbasket over to Michael.

“Maybe some shopping or just relax, we haven’t really decided yet.” Bette replies. “It’s vacation time so we have all the time in the world.” She adds.

“Can I come with you?” Megan asks hopefully.

“Maybe. We’ll see.” Tina replies with a smile to her little sister.

Two hours later, Bette and Tina were on their way to Raleigh, alone, to do some shopping, spending time together. Paul lent them his car so they didn’t have to rent a car. Paul and Joanne wasn’t planning to do anything but relaxing at home today.

Tina was driving, since she knew the way. About 30 minutes later they drove into the city of Raleigh.

“Where do you wanna go first?” Tina asks.

“I don’t know, a place where we can walk around, lots of stores within reach and where we don’t have to drive from store to store.” Bette replies with a smile.

“Okay then, the mall it is.” Tina says and drives in that direction. Minutes later they drove into the parking house at the mall. They walk into the mall hand in hand. Some looks are cast their way, but they don’t care.

“So, where to?” Tina asks.

“I want to get some new jeans, and I need a few new tops.” Bette says.

“Okay, why not try there first?” Tina asks and points to Carlings. “They have classical and sexy jeans.” She adds and winks.

“I bet… Okay, let’s try there first.” Bette replies.

After 30 minutes or so, they walked out with two bags with jeans and a few cool t-shirts. Tina also chose to get new jeans.

“I’m a little hungry, you want to get something to eat?” Tina asks.

“Yeah, I’m a little hungry too.” Bette agrees.

They walked around a little to find a place they liked. The mall is big and takes a while to get through. But finally they found a place where the food looked good. They ordered and took a seat, waiting for the food to arrive. They both ordered a chicken salad and coffee.
