"If you don’t want to stay here just fuck off don’t make excuses." Alice spat at Shane.

"Al no…No I never meant it like that of course I want to stay here I just thought you two might need some privacy." Shane tried to explain herself. Dana looked at Shane and Shane just sat back down on the chair. Dana had never seen Alice like this before she had never spoken to any of her friends in such an aggressive manner before.

"Everyone’s been in to see you they all miss you." Dana tried to make conversation "I’ve missed you". Alice reached over and held Dana’s hand tightly.

"I wanna go home Dana" Alice said with tears in her eyes.

"Just as soon as your better babe, I promise." Dana soothed her.

Chapter 8 

Dana woke to the sun shining through the curtains, she didn’t need to get up for another 30 minutes but she decided the sooner she got training out of the way, the sooner she could get to the hospital to visit Alice. She had left her the previous night sound asleep. Dana was reluctant to go home and leave her but she knew she was starting back training this morning. She went for a run first then she headed to the Tennis club to work on her serve. Finally at 10am she was back in Al’s apartment getting showered and ready to go to the hospital. When Dana got to the hospital she entered Alice’s room to find the bed missing, the sheer panic that overtook Dana was terrifying, just as she was about to run out the room to find out what was happening she saw Michelle walking along the corridor followed by two porters pushing Alice in her bed. Dana sighed with relief.

"Hey, Alice was just away getting a scan and some more x-rays there." Michelle informed her when they entered the room. When the bed was wheeled in Dana was surprised to see Alice laying awake smiling at her. The porters fixed the bed back and Michelle stood hooking Alice back up to all the machines round about.

"How do you feel today sweetie?" Dana asked walking towards Alice’s bed.
