Love Will Lead You Back – Chapter 8

    Chapter 8

Tina took a day off from work today.  She wasn’t feeling well; it was liked having two trains exploding in her head after a vicious, fierce, merciless collision. She had a rough time sleeping last night after her encounter with Bette. Tina couldn’t believe that the Bette, who shown up last night was the same Bette she put up with for years.

When in love, people tend to be blind – and Tina realized that was her greatest disability in the relationship, she was blindly in love with Bette.  Her admirations for Bette’s beauty, talent, control, and everything that exerts her power and strength from a mile away that caused her to surrender her autonomy – like a sick puppy satisfies if only loved, cherished, and taken care of by its rightful owner – Bette Porter was her owner in every sense of the word.

Tina overlooked every little abhorrent, unpleasant, and demeaning attributes of Bette, for the finer and more positive qualities of the woman she loved outweigh the negative ones. Bette was self-centered, self-importance and snobby. However, Bette did have many great qualities – countless – but patience, calmness, sensitivity toward others, and extroversion wasn’t among them.  If she did have them, they were in the lower percentages.

If you can love someone, surely you can also hate that person, and last night Tina’s hatred of Bette was at the end of the scale – she hated Bette 10 folds than she had loved her.  How dared Bette accused her of seeing another woman behind her back when she was the one shagging Candace without even letting Tina know. Bette can be so hypocritical sometimes; there were always double standards, the Bette Porter’s standards. Melvin, her father cheated on her mother and till this day she still blamed him for driving her mother away from her.  She loathed his fickleness, his high principle, his elitism but found herself resembling him in so many ways.

Tina had a talk with Alice last night, who apologized to her for telling others about the whole dating thing. She also told her about last night event but not in extravagant details, for she knew Alice has a motor mouth. Tina noticed something strange in Alice, she sensed that Alice is seeing someone perhaps Dana she thought though no probable evident – she seemed livelier and happier – there was twinkles in her eyes when she talked about Dana then sadness when Tonya was mentioned. Tina didn’t want to pry her friend; if she wanted to talk she’ll open her mouth – for everyone knows Alice can’t really keep secret for long. Alice asked her about Helena and if Tina would consider dating her. Tina had thought about it because she like Helena, a lot, she’s very much like Bette but softer and at moment more caring toward her.

    1. This is just awful, everything is going to hell in a handbasket for our girls. Bette should be crying for Tina and herself. Yes, their lives have changed and are about to get much worse. Thanks for posting.

    2. I’ve found that in the majority of the stories I read here, Tina is rarely an equal to her partner. She’s either a damsel in distress or “the enemy”. It’s nice to read a story in which she’s neither of the two. I just hope Bette doesn’t go through too much pain before she gets better. Please don’t have Helena gunning for Bette or her job. She’s going through enough pain & self-loathing with the breakup. Tina & Helena’s friendship should blossom but not into a romance. At least not yet. They truly seem to like one another but now is far too soon to take that step. Thanks and please continue.

    3. BETTE IS AN ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!she shouls suffer like tina didgoing out and fucking another worman b/c she lost money for her dear CACbette needs to think whats truly matters to her

    4. The chapter summary says it all… Bette’s on a totally destructive path. Helena might let it slip to Tina that she saw Bette in NY, or she might not. Either way, Bette’s screwed, likely for the funding as well as for any hope of some sort of reconciliation with Tina. I think Bette still has even further to fall, sadly. Thanks for the post, Kim. :)

    5. OMG Alice is so going to tell Tina. The tibette gap will now stretch into a grand canyon. I love the pace of this story, and don’t worry about the sex scene you did great. Still loving it, thank you kimzero :)
