Tina shook her head confused at Bette’s sudden actions. “No, I’m fine.”
Bette walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. She took a big swig and set it down on the counter. Bette leaned forward over the sink. She was losing self-control around Tina and it was a matter of time she would go in for the kill and be rejected. You need to stop this she is your boxer. Why the hell did you get her that damn rope especially the nickname? God…you’re falling for her….I’m falling hard for Tina.
Bette’s grip tightened on the sink when she heard Tina approach her from behind. “Bette, what’s wrong?”
Bette took a deep breath and quietly replied. “Nothing. I was thirsty.”
Tina was having as hard of a time as Bette was with her feelings. Tina stepped closer licking her lips and confidently she said. “Turn around, Bette.”
Bette looked up at the window in front of her for a second before she slowly turned around her back now against the sink. Her eyes immediately found Tina’s. Tina stared at Bette for a split second before she lunged her lips’ crashing upon Bette’s. Bette let out a moan/sigh. Bette automatically gripped onto Tina’s waist pulling her closer. Tina’s hands were on the back of Bette’s head pulling her closer not wanting to lose contact. Tina’s tongue slid along Bette’s bottom lip wanting to gain access inside. Bette obliged and soon their tongues met half way dancing around each other. The kiss became more heated as Bette pulled Tina’s bottom lip into her mouth sucking on it. Tina lowered her hands down to Bette’s sweatpants. She hooked her thumbs inside and tried to tug them down. Bette pulled back grabbing Tina’s wrists.
She took a step back putting space between them. “Tina, we can’t do this. I don’t know what came over me. We need to focus on the fight tomorrow.”
Tina stood there shocked. “I thought you wanted this.” She gestured between them.
Bette stepped forward cupping Tina’s face. “I do more than you know but I can’t. I’ve been down this road before and it just didn’t work. I can’t lose you as a boxer.”
Tina nodded feeling stupid. “Fine, I’ll see you tomorrow.” She walked into the living room grabbing the box full of her stuff.
Bette stood in the kitchen unsure what just happened she quickly walked into the living room seeing Tina almost out the door. “Tina!”
Tina stopped and turned looking back at Bette. “What?”
Bette’s eyes welled up, she was hurting because she now knew how Tina felt yet she could never pursue it with her. She bit her lower lip to hold back the tears. “I’m sorry.”
Tina just stood there and shook her head. “Whatever. I’ll see you tomorrow.” She grabbed the door knob and pulled it shut.
Bette stood there watching and flinched as the door slammed closed. “Fuck!” She whispered. The tears fell freely.
