Bette laughed “I like them both – I still think that maybe Pete is checking me out “
“He does that – he watches and doesn’t say much – that’s the way he is – I have spoken to both of them and they both gave you their seal of approval”
“Five down – one not forthcoming “ Bette said under her breath. Tina didn’t reply – but it was a conversation that they did need to have. Bette had stopped talking about telling her father about her sexuality and her relationship with Tina. That did upset Tina because she knew how much Bette loved her father – she would bring it up late one night when they were chilling out.

Tina had given Bette the tour of most of the house which took a while because it was a huge three storey town house. After showing Bette the biggest bathroom they stood together on the landing
“And where is Tina’s room ?” Bette asked raising her eyebrow. Tina took hold of Bette’s hand and lead her a few feet to a room at the end of the corridor. She opened the door and held her hand out. Bette walked into the room

“Wow “

It was a lovely room – very sunny with a skylight flooding the room with light. The walls were a soft peach shade and facing the door was a huge double bed with a white quilt. It was feminine without being over the top. There was a TV in a corner and a large stereo system under the skylight. The floor was laminated but there were a couple of black sheepskin rugs on the floor.

“I love it here – this has been my room since I was a baby – this was my nursery room when he used to look after me. I remember this room better than the room where I grew up in when I was a kid. We moved to the apartment we now live in when I was about 10. And I do struggle to remember that bedroom . This room holds some memories for me “

Bette put her arms around Tina and kissed her neck “Would you be interested in making some more ?”
“Yes – I want to wake up in this bed with you. This feels the right bed to be the first one we spend the night in for me. Being at home – that wouldn’t make me feel comfortable because of my parents being there but this – this feels right “
