Soulmates
My life as I lived it had often seemed to me like a story that has no beginning and no end. I had the feeling that I was a historical fragment, an excerpt for which the preceding and succeeding text was missing. I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries and there encountered questions I was not yet able to answer; that I had to be born again because I had not fulfilled the task that was given to me.

Chapter 11
Shane’s story stayed with Tina long after she left Shane at the coffee shop. While it answered one of Tina’s questions it opened up the door for so many others. The biggest questions of all for Tina were those about herself. She didn’t understand her own feelings let alone the answers to her questions.
When Shane had announced that she was gay Tina’s immediate reaction was to think ‘Is that why I’m so drawn to her?’ But it had to be more than that Tina reasoned because she has known gay women before and she never felt the bond to them that she does to Shane. In her quiet moments with her own thoughts this question troubled her. ‘Why was she so drawn to Shane?’ In the hectic life of trying to finish law school Tina was able to push off this thought along with the question into the background.
For now Tina was taking her new found friendship with Shane at face value. Their closeness having evolved from their first coffee shop meeting, now both expected to meet a couple times a week at the coffee shop for friendly conversations. It was during one of these meetings that Tina mentioned Justin was coming to town this Friday. She would love for Shane to finally meet him.
Shane for her part had heard everything that Tina had said about Justin but didn’t want to jump to any conclusions until she met him. She wondered how he treated Tina so for that reason she wanted to meet him.
“Well that could be fun Tina, does Justin like to dance?” Shane asked wondering if Tina’s boyfriend would be a stuffed shirt or not.

That was a hard read because it’s Tina dying and Bette left alone. You wrote the end of the Nomadic Life, is that a clue to a sequel? I’m going back to read the AN to see. I have this bad habit of not reading the AN’s and I end up jumping to the wrong conclusion at times so forgive me for my igs
Wow, sad but so good
I loved reading Nomadic Life, so sad and tragic but I like what Tina said that their love is forever. I can’t wait to see how you continue this love to the present day Bette and Tina.
Wow….that ending came as a shock. After all the pain and suffering Tina went through with the hope of being with Bette again she ends up choosing to die rather than wait any longer. So sad. As for the present time story I can’t wait to see how they meet. At this point they appear to be complete opposites. Bette doesn’t seem like anyone Tina would have any interest in.I’m anxious to see how you resolve that. Thanks for posting this story.
oh so sad about nomadic tina but so true, their love is forever and they will find each other again, can’t wait to read about another life and see what’s happening in the present :)
I’m a huge fan of your work! (Never told you before.) I read all of this story in one sitting…took me hours. So, after two weeks, I am really, really, really looking forward to the next update…!!! Yah! Yah! Can’t wait much longer!
that was just so heartbreaking.Thank you for this story and I eagerly wait to see how you continue the meeting of Bette and Tina in the present. Thank you for this story and for writing.
I love your writing but this story is too sad for my tast.
There’s going to be a few other lifetimes and each is going to end bad? Ugh, my heart! Anyway I love the premodern times and I’m excited to see B&T there. :)
I can’t believe what I’m doing I’m crying like a child. that was soooo sad. Now, Tina’s and Bette’s souls r in quest for each other, rn’t they?thank u for the update, now will u tell us what happened to Bette in Italy? I can’t wait to see our Tibette meets in present story.
Very sad and emotinal. And realistic:( Really hard chapter, great story.
Oh no no no!…it’s so heartbreaking! :’-( … Jwet you make me cry like a baby! So sad!! .. Anyway, so there’ll be only one time line of the present story in your next installment? Or would there’ll be a post nomadic story?! .. Honestly.. If there’s more story with this heartbreaking ending, I don’t think my little heart can take it. I’ll just skip to the present only :-p which I hope would have happy ending :-) or maybe… Would you kind enough to give tissue warning beforehand?! At least when someone read this kind of story in public would know what to prepared and expect and not attracted any stranger to stare into her tearful face.. ;-) lol.. Thanks Jwet for this marvelously written chapter! :-)
So sad that in the nomadic tale that Tina has died. Can’t wait to see which period you choose for the next timeline. I am happy to see that in the modern time, Tina has finally admitted that Justin needs to go! :) Thanks for this complex story!
Whew! Powerful, sad, full of expectation. What a well written story. I look forward to what comes next. Thanks for these stories.
I’m just glad nomadic Tina’s free of that animal. I hope whoever was chasing them gave him what he deserved. Looking forward to your next post, thanks :)
