Chapter 229
Narration of President Bette Kennard-Porter
I had been having just the best day playing with Ella when it happens. I have put her down for her afternoon nap and I am trying to leave her nursery but I am just staring at her – she is just wonderful and there are no words to describe my feelings for my daughter who today reached the grand age of 14 weeks old. Was there a time worth remembering before Ella was born ? Just the period when I first meet and fell in love and married her momma. Its our wedding anniversary in one week and one days time. I am still trying to decide what to buy Tina – sadly Google products doesn’t seem to stock the moon because that is what I really want to buy her. She has given me so much happiness and love – she should have anything that her heart desires. But it is a tough one — she doesn’t have expensive tastes as much as I would like her to have some. When I ask Tina what she wants she tells me that she has everything that she needs- our daughter and me. That’s MY line and it bugs me that she knows anything she says she likes I will buy for her so she doesn’t tell me that anymore.
So this is my thought process – that and how fantastic it is to spend some time with Ella Elizabeth. So what I am not doing is watching where I am going – which is why I catch my foot under the rug just beside the door and stumble – I instinctively reach out to save myself but not quick enough not to turn my ankle . Shit it hurts and I sit for a few minutes trying to get my bearings. At no point did I hit my head but I did crash pretty hard into the wooden floor and wind myself. After a few minutes I try and get up and that’s when I realise that I have seriously twisted my ankle and I can’t actually stand up. I manage to reach my mobile and call for help. It takes 7 seconds for there to be the reassuring sound of heavy feet running up the stairs and my guards appear. I assure them that I am alright but I have sprained my ankle – there is instant call for back up and doctors and heaven knows who else. One of my newest bodyguards Mark picks me up with the ease that I pick up Ella and takes me to my bedroom. I feel like Whitney Houston being carried by Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard. A doctor appears in 10 minutes and says that I really should go to hospital to have my ankle checked out in case its broken. I tell him that I am going nowhere for the simple reason that I am not leaving my daughter. He tells me off for not having a nanny which pisses me off. We do have two nannies when we are in Washington but neither of us want a nanny when we are in our own home which is what we both see Virginia as.

HE AllyE, Great to have more tof this fabulous fan fiction to catch up with. I just love how Tina manages to soften Bette’s bite with a few gentle glances and soft words. I really think that Bette needs to sort things out with Melvin. Tina is pushing her towards this and Bette is tredding water. Time to shout up and listen to her father. Shame about the ankle but it did make me laugh thinking of the POTUS falling over like the rest of us, mere mortals. Hysterical. Can’t wait for your next wonderful post. Another great chapter from this very interesting story AllyE. Tina is the balm that soothes the savage beast Bette. AS for Lucy ever thinking that Bette might have been a drag queen, I don’t see how she could have ever thought such a thing. Lucy must have had very little experience with knowing what a drag queen looks like if she confused Bette as one. Bette is the farthest thing from looking like a drag queen. I don’t remember reading that early on and I must go back and find the comment just to satisfy my mind. One of these days Bette will have to forgive Melvin even if he erred on the side of caution and his love for his daughter. As this scenario progresses I can only see more drama for Bette and Melvin and certainly plenty drama where Shane is concerned. Can not imagine what has sparked her lack of respect for POTUS but, we know Tina will set her straight and of course, Bette will also. Great post AllyE. Post when you can.

Hi Ally, Missed you when you were on your hiatus and admire your taking the time for yourself. Love all your stories and am busy catching up since I was gone for a while myself. Your stories are so great – IC could learn from you that not all drama has to involve cheating, oh well fanfic is the answer.

Again, I wonder what the hell is wrong with Shane. Loved the POTUS-FLOTUS banter and two thumbs up for your consistency, for referencing bits and pieces mentioned about the characters or the storyline 50 or 100 chapters ago. Lord knows how confusing it is to follow some of the storylines in the show because the basic details about the characters seem to be changing every season. So for your consistency, I applaud you! THERE you are funny, I have been looking all over for you! I have to agree with Shane here. Tina is furious with Shane cos she suggested the president come back to work? Kidding me? Bette has a twisted ankle! Not even broken, just sprained, and she is fine with blowing meetings off? Methinks these people gotta get a grip on a little proportion round there.
Poor Bette, hope she get better soon!
