Although Bette had only slept a few hours she awoke before
Tina. At first she was confused about where she was and who was in bed with her
until her brain woke up and she recalled the hours of love making the night
before.

Suddenly Bette was scared. What if this had been a one time
only thing with Tina and now the new relationship they had been working so hard
to build had come to an end. Bette should have kept it in her pants no matter
how bad she had wanted Tina again from the first moment she saw her or how much
Tina had begged her to let her make love to her. That had always been a problem
for Bette…she never could tell Tina Kennard no.

Slowly moving their intertwined limbs she silently moved out
of the bed. Searching for her clothes around the room she slipped into the
bathroom to dress. Tip toeing to the door she closed it softly behind her.
Picking up her purse from beside the sofa where they had left it last night in
a hurry to get to the bed she jumped back in surprise as she turned around and
was face to face with Angie.

“Momma B where are you going? Are you going to eat breakfast
with me and Mommy?”

“Good morning Angie.”

Bette was trying to ignore the child’s questions because she
was unsure of the correct answer.

“Good morning. Can I go with you?”

Bette realized she had her purse on her shoulder and had
frozen mid step when Angie had spoken to her. In fact Angie was still waiting
for an answer and wanted to go too. Seeing no way out of the situation Bette
gave a plausible answer.

“I was getting ready to go pick up some breakfast. Your
Mommy is still asleep so we have to be quiet and yes I’m sure your mommy won’t
mind if we go to the bakery down the street for some donuts. Let’s get you
changed out of your PJ’s first.”

Smiling Angie dashed off to her room to change. Bette did
not feel good changing her story at the last minute but she did not want to
admit to Angie that she was leaving when she had caught her.

Tina awoke just as the front door closed. Feeling around in
the bed next to her for Bette she jumped up quickly hoping that had not been
Bette she heard leaving. She realized that last night Bette had been very
scared to trust her again and she hoped Bette was not running because she had
meant every words of love she had spoken to her last night.
