    Chapter 1

    “How about April?”

    “No too early…how about September?”

“No the kids start school then…seriously T it shouldn’t be this hard.”

Bette and Tina looked at each other with identical frustrated expressions on their faces.  They were trying to pick a date for their “2nd wedding” that they decided to have when they reached the 15-year anniversary of their marriage. Now most people usually do this sort of thing at the 10-year or 25-year mark but hey Bette and Tina aren’t exactly your conventional couple.  To them 15 years was a perfect milestone to celebrate and that’s exactly what they were planning to do.

Unfortunately before they could celebrate all of the arrangements had to made so they’d spent all morning working on the basics because they wanted to have the ground rules set before the gang came over that night to help them with the more detailed parts of the planning.  Alice and Dana had taken Liz and Sky to lunch and a movie so that Bette and Tina could have some time to themselves and they’d spent most of that time trying to decide what kind of service to have and when to have it.  They’d agreed on a simple outdoor ceremony where they would renew their vows in front of their friends and family with a small reception held afterward that Kit insisted be done at the Planet.  That was the easy part.  Now they were having trouble on deciding when to have it.

“Well why don’t we have it in November?  I mean that is technically when we got married babe.”

“Works for me but you can be the one to explain to all of our friends that the January anniversary party they throw us every year has been wrong from day one.”

Bette grinned at Tina.  When they’d first gotten engaged and tried to plan their actual wedding the planning process had gotten so hectic and stressful that one weekend in November the engaged couple said to hell with it and drove to Vegas and eloped.  Of course they never told their friends because they knew they’d catch hell for doing that so when they returned they continued their wedding plans and actually went through with the ceremony in January as planned.  To this day Alice and company still have no idea whey Bette and Tina always remember to send each other flowers on November 11th…and if Bette and Tina have their way they never will.
